Equifax is one of the three main bureaus that provide credit reports which other businesses use to determine creditworthiness. Additionally, they offer their own credit monitoring service with a mobile app, allowing consumers to access their Equifax credit file, as well reports from the other two bureaus.

Overall Rating: 3.9 / 5 (Very good)

Equifax is a credit bureau and is not itself in the business of credit monitoring or reporting. However, a subsidiary of the company, Trusted ID, is providing free credit reporting and monitoring services for people who were affected by the 2017 theft of 145 million American's personal identifying information from Equifax's servers. As far as we can determine, Trusted ID's services are not available to consumers other than those affected by the data breach. Very little information about Trusted ID can be gleaned from either its website or Equifax's publications.

The absolute worst. Signed up for a trial, and immediately cancelled in the same day, and then they still charged me $19.99 at the end of the month stating that I never cancelled the service. I called to tell them it was supposed to be cancelled, and to issue a refund, and they said that it was never cancelled and that they will not refund me for it. Have you ever heard of a company doing this in 2022? Me neither. Not only did I cancel in the same session that I signed up for the trial for, but the information that their subscription provides is literally useless. Experian on the other hand has been fantastic. So I'm just stating here warning everyone, it's not even worth the initial $5.... Read More
