I have a Delta Dental Advantage plan and I need Dental work done due to my Cancer treatments with my Dentist Delta wuld pay 25,000 I will be 18,000 out of pocket I can get it done in Mexico with a 5 yr written Guarantee for 5,000 Total I was told by a Delta Dental rep that because its a Medicare plan they can't help me with the costs in Mexico. We talk about the high cost of Medical then when people find it can save both the insurance and yourself they denie you with the help.

delta is an outright scam - it refused coverage for ridiculous reason - claimed that the implant was not covered because "the tooth never existed since we don't have a record of extraction". If I were born without that tooth, there would be no room install the implant but any sort of reasoning that doesn't contribute to their bottom line simply does not exist.

I have been billed $140 and $208 by Delta Dental Dentists under my Delta Dental PPO plan that says in-network Delta will pay 100% for cleaning and annual exam.
The dentists don't understand, or can't explain, and calling Delta is no better.
This dental insurance company is horrible. If you need a proceedure outside of network they will cover almost nothing. Unethical and unfair. Buyers beware
THE absolute WORST company I've ever dealt with for anything. Terrible coverage, almost IMPOSSIBLE to cancel. They hold you hostage contract wise. Haven't used them for years yet have had to continue to pay them.

DO NOT RECOMMEND.
Refused to cover an implant on the grounds that they "do not have a record of extraction and, therefore, it's a defect the patient was born with." They even supplied a conclusion from a "doctor", someone who doesn't know that if the tooth has never existed, the adjacent teeth would move/expand, and the gap would close which would not allow to install an implant.

Horrible insurance company!!! They sent us a check which was never received. We called twice, they said they stopped the payment and would issue another check. 2 weeks later, still nothing. Very shady business. The company must be investigated for fraud!

Lose two teeth at the back of my mouth, one on each side. Crowns not covered.

Deplorable customer service. I was just on hold for 1 hour and 22 minutes. Spoke to a rep for a short time but was told her system wasn't working and she was transferring me to another rep. No one ever came on and I hung up after holding for another 30 minutes. This is the first time I've had an issue with them and I do feel they are stalling payment on a crown. When you try to email them on their website, you get an error message and told to call and then you HOLD FOREVER. Definitely do not recommend them.
Only interested in paying for 6 month checkups. Everything else is classified as cosmetic and they will not cover. Even a molar at the back of my mouth that needs to be replaced.
poor selection of in network options even with premier plan, lousy coverage
If you are considering having dental work done outside of your Network or with an International Dental Tourism program - don't use Delta Dental. Without going into too many details, the procedure I had involved two trips to Malta. The first to extract 4 front upper teeth, install 2 implants and have a temporary prosthetic created until the 4-6 month healing process was complete. In addition, I had some additional crowns replaced, spending over $7000.00 (less than the US). Because I was out of Network, I knew I was only eligible for $1000.00 for the year rather than the $1500.00. Aweful insurance plan! They cover basically nothing! I need a root canal and a crown, as well as a tooth pulled. Apparently I have reached the maximum coverage of $1,000 due to a teeth cleaning, consultation and xrays. Are you kidding me?? Terrible choice of employee dental insurance!
Delta Dental canceled my coverage after having them 2 1/2 years. I only used them once and was getting ready to make a dental appt only to find out through mail it was canceled May1st of this year, no reminders nothing. Tried contacting them by phone and email with no response. They said I hadn’t made payment but it’s auto pay. Really bad to pay into a plan for that long and they pull the rug out from under me
TERRIBLE Customer Service. Had a dispute...and it has been 2 years and it still not resolved. Started when Delta Dental sent our surgeon someone else's Delta dental payment. They had not taken care of this for 2 years...and keep telling us they will get it resolve. Turned over to my Health Advocate...who is not getting anywhere. This involves $1500.00 which i am now obligated to pay. I am giving you one star because there isnt a "zero". I have also just received a letter from DD saying they won't pay as they cannot locate returned checks from my surgeon...that they confirmed they received 2 years ago. BEWARE - Doesn’t value loyal customers – Employees lied about Waiver exemptions for No Lapse In Coverage I called in several times to Delta Dental to explore a private membership after a decade of being what I thought was a valued member with Delta Dental during my employment with where I had employee benefits. After no longer being an employee at my company, I called Delta Dental for a private membership and was told and assisted that the fact that I had no lapse in coverage I would be granted a waiver of the new membership that stipulated they won’t cover anything but cleanings for the 1st year until you pay in a years worth of premiums ($1200.00). Cant find one honest dentist the Delta dental has done nothing to address dentists charging outside contracted amount fraud.
When I signed up I wasn't told that you cannot cancel until you have made 2 yrs of monthly payments which come out to a couple hundred dollars for the inexpensive plan. There really is no such thing as dental insurance now that we no longer have medical insurance plans like in the past. Basically you are paying a small or large fee per year for a discount. If you pay cash any Dentist I have encountered will charge you their regular high fee for each procedure with no discount. If you have one of these insurance plans you get a discount from 30 to 50 % of a jacked up price. Appallingly bad customer service. Worst insurance experience ever, anywhere, in any category. This company should not be in business; they are running a scam.
They allowed $48.00 for cleaning and xrays, I was to pay $50.00. Did not cover crowns, etc. What exactly and I getting for the cost of the policy. It is cheaper for me to pay cash, at least I would not be out the cost of the policy.
