PHI Air Medical is the leading air ambulance provider across the country, providing air medical services and outreach education to local communities and leading healthcare systems. PHI safely transport more than 22,000 patients each year, operating out of more than 60 bases across the United States. At each base, they maintain a dedicated crew of pilots, clinical staff, mechanics, and communications specialists – all exceptionally trained and ready to respond.
HOW IT WORKS
PHI Air Medical works closely with local fire departments, ground ambulances, law enforcement agencies, medical facilities, and physicians, to ensure safe, expedient, and lifesaving care for our patients. In case of an emergency requiring medical evacuation or transport, you can expect the following as a member of PHI Air Medical:
- Air Medical Transport is required: If the 911 dispatcher or emergency personnel determine the patient requires an air medical transport, they will request an air ambulance.
- When PHI Air Medical Responds: Trained professionals are on their way with critical care supplies and medications found in a hospital emergency room or intensive care unit.
- Immediate Safe Transport: Highly trained, experienced pilots take you to the nearest medical center giving you the greatest chance of full recovery.
- Your Costs are Covered: With a PHI Cares Membership purchased separately, you have peace of mind because PHI will work with your insurance provider and accept the insurance payment as “payment-in-full” for any medically-necessary transport.
SERVICES
PHI Air Medical offers membership 'PHI Cares' with four plans:
- Specialty Critical Care: PHI can transport intra-aortic balloon pumps, neonatal isolette, ventricular assist devices and ECMO depending on location.
- Blood Transport: PHI was the first organization of our size to adopt blood products on board aircrafts as best practice.
- Patient Transfer: Having PHI in your service area means you have a partner to help with transfers to a higher level of care when local resources are at capacity.
- ECMO: PHI is the first air medical operator in the US to offer Extra Corporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO) in the EC-135 aircraft.
- Family Trax: Allows friends and family members to track their loved ones while in transit
