Reputation & Transparency - 4.9 / 5

AmeriSave is not yet accredited by the Better Business Bureau but holds an A+ rating with the organization based on 30, mostly negative, customer reviews. Although they have received a total of 113 complaints to date on BBB.org, this figure is not uncommon for a lender servicing 49 states and the District of Columbia. There have been few regulatory actions taken against this lender, and they only been the object of a moderate number of complaints—again, for a company of its size—on the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau's website.

Amerisave was not as helpful as i thought it would be, they damaged my credit score with the hard pulls in order to refinance my mortgage. I sent all my docs to my loan officer, and processor called me and asking me for same docs that I already sent. And they've already sent me an estimated closing date on via email when my loan hasn't even been approved. You might be able to get a lowest interest rate but the company itself is a joke. I stopped working with them but my credit score had dipped. After a few months my credit got back in good shape with the assistance of Creditmason Repairs, they got my score up by a 100points and cleaned up my credit report. I eventually had to make use of... Do NOT do business with this company. They ask for the same documents over and over and if it doesn't fit their little box, they keep asking. What a nightmare! I had to shut it down and lost not only time and money (they ask for money up front) and of course the hard inquiry hurts your credit rating. Closing costs are high too. They are a nightmare to deal with. Run, and run fast.

Only use this company as a last resort. They ask for the same things over and over. With a closing date set they change requirements with less than 48 hours leaving the buyer with nothing. This is not a professional way to do business. They will cause me to lose my purchase. Bad business. I wish I could give negative stars. Took my application money and ran me around for almost two months.

Bait and switch outfit. Bunch of crooks who promise rates and fees but make you wait for months and last minutes they change the rate and fees dramatically.

Applied in late January and still trying to get to closing. Horrible response. Endless requests for documents already provided and last minute changes that increase closing costs over $3,000. Excuses make little sense and from the other comments, it looks like this is a purposeful pattern. They wanted $500 to apply. I would avoid this company. Very frustration to deal with! It is now mid March and I hope to get my "Application Fee of $500 back and find a better company to work with. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY!

Ameriserve promised a rate with all cost on a stament provided by them. Thier underwriters were extreamy inexperienced and delayed the process. After getting managers involved to get past underwriting they told me that they failed to lock the rate they promised and now the terms to close the loan will coast me an addition $1,000. I offered to split the difference since the delay and failure to lock were all ameriserve failures. They did not split the difference and today a manager called and asked to move forward with the closing with my costs now exceeding an additional $4,000. I have credit over 800 and more than enough income for the loan. THis company is not trustworthy and I am... Read More

Amerisave has competitive offerings and good online tools/document management but do not choose if you have any complexities in your refinance. Its been 3 months and not only have rates changed dramatically the updated disclosures were clearly misleading/wrong and our closing completely fell through because deed details were messed up , deed details not shared until closing meeting and only a notary was scheduled to deal with closing. Qualifying self employment earnings, moving deeds in and out of Family trusts, dealing with California property. Loan originator was professional and tried to help - loan processor was mistake prone and misogynistic.

Had exactly the same experience as Cheryl C. It's been over two months I've been trying to refinance with this company and it is still not done!! Unacceptable when my credit score is over 800 and have never had a problem getting a loan!! It's just one endless document request after another. DO NOT USE THIS MORTGAGE COMPANY!!!

Have been round and round for 4 weeks. Poor process and internal communication...keep getting automated emails for 1) info already provided multiple times 2) New info piecemeal (drip, drip). I have more than enough financial resources so this should have been quick in and out. Hard to believe a company so customer negligent can stay in business.

OMG, I wish I would have read the reviews below first, could have saved a huge amount of time, interest and ridiculous requests. The absolute worst experience. 5 months, still no refinance loan. Asking for the same documents over and over and going nowhere. Cancelled our application today. BTW, we both have excellent credit and were looking for a $400,000 refinance on a $1.3 million home. DO NOT USE THEM!!!

I applied for a refi with AmeriSave on 7/31/20 after finding their online advertised 30yr fixed rate. My loan originator was Sade Mitchell NMLS ID #1595508, and my loan processor was Hailey Cook. The first red flag I received was a demand for a $500 application fee to apply for the advertised rate. I had gotten estimates and have done refi’s in the past. This was the first time being asked to pay upfront to apply for the advertised rate. The second red flag was the eagerness by Sade to emphasize my offered rate was “guaranteed” regardless if mortgage interest rates went up. This was reiterated several times during our initial conversation. I now realize it was a misleading and deceptive... Read More

I applied for a refinance loan approximately 5 1/2 months ago. I was timely submitted everything they requested, and several weeks went by before anyone would respond to my emails or phone calls. Had to pay for appraisal upfront before they would work with me. From beginning to end, since my initial application, I finally had to terminate them because they repeatedly asked me for the same documents and after six months, they had to re-pull my credit report. At that point, I just gave up and decided to go to another lender. If I allow them to get another copy of my credit report, I wish the chance of again sitting there waiting for six months with nothing gets done. This is by far the... Read More

Bad service and I believe that they are scam , and they are playing numbers game to charge you very high closing cost. Actually even they are honest you will not save anything and you will pay a lot. I can not believe that they get high ratings here . It must be another scam.

I am dealing with this company right now. After uploading all the requested documents on your website and emailing the loan processor the same documents and waiting 3 months, it is shocking I got an email asking for the same documents again. The new processor is claiming she can't see the uploaded documents and she also requested from the 3rd party the same documents requested before. It is unfortunate I did not read a review before I paid my 500 dollars to this company. All the loan documents I received from the company shows an application fee again. What a waste of time and money dealing with this company!

Horrible customer service. 2 months still waiting for our loan docs. Someone told us to be home at 5pm for the notary to sign the final papers. NO SHOW, NO PHONE CALL, emailed them NO RESPONSE. I am a well qualified borrower. DO NOT USE/

First off, the initial response to a refinance application was met by a ' Rosie '. Rosie sent me a few text messages requesting information to which I responded. Then I get a separate message requesting I call to proceed. I call and get a person who didn't initially identify herself until I asked who I was speaking to. Come to find out from this live person that ' Rosie' isn't a real person. It's an automated bot. After initially applying to refinance my home, I requested the type of loan to be a cash out. With receiving $40,000.00 at closing. This was done through the application and verbally with the real person who was/is a loan originator. The loan originator has a fiduciary duty to... Read More

At first things went great but quickly declined. We had a difficult time getting in touch with our loan processor. Our loan was held up because of a past employer not sending in employment verification. This occurred even though we had specifics about Time, length and salary of that employment. Then after everything is finally done, we are are SHORTED over $3000 from our cash to borrower amount. It took two days to get this fixed. Then Solidify, the closing company, supposedly the ones responsible for the error, sent a paY off check to us, not the company, in the wrong amount, for us to mail to the company. This was never disclosed either. We were away and the check sat there for... Read More

When I was first contacted by the Amerisave representative regarding refinancing my mortgage, I immediately informed him that my 2 prior applications to well-known firms had proven futile given my debt to income ration was too great. (In fact I had given up on the idea.) But he immediately dismissed that notion because Amerisave is made up by individual investors and are not restricted by the stricter lending standards most conventional lenders must operate under especially given my extremely high credit score. He could not envision my being declined and proceeded to convince me to proceed with the application. This application involved a $500 non-refundable application fee which he... Read More
