I am in the middle of a re-fi and so far not impressed. Poor communications at all levels and substantial delays in the process for no apparent reason. Almost 2 months into the process and have to resubmit my app. because of bad advice at the beginning. Started to shop elsewhere.
My refinance transaction is being a nightmare! They don't return calls, and no replies to emails. No communication at all. My loan officer is always out of the office, at least thats what her VM says every single time I call, and my processor always on meetings. I even called the Manager and director and the same. I was a loan processor for USAA for 2 years and I have to say this, USAA truly cares about communication as I was supposed to call my customers every 3 days, unfortunately I was expecting the same service from Pen Fed but based on my experience looks like management has a lot of work to do. Last year, I made the mistake of paying my VA mortgage early for two months. PENFED reported to the VA that those payments were late, making it difficult to receive an eligibility letter for refinancing. I provided a copy of the PENFED payment history from the PENFED account to PENFED. The statement reflected that the payments were early. Still no reconciliation letter was sent to the VA. PENFED penalizes you for making early monthly payments and send that false information to the VA mortgage division. To date , my records at the VA show PENFED listed two incorrect payments last year which were paid at least one week prior to the due dates. I am looking for another bank. Word of wisdom,... I'm about to change lenders to anyone. Penfed do not discloses all charges in home purchases, they clarification after the fact you submitted the whole docmentation, Incredibly all paper work would address in 2 or 3 days??? Why?
