Markel's wedding cancellation insurance offers 10 levels of cancellation/ postponement options from $7,500 to $175,000. All options include extra expenses, special jewelry, photographs, videos, and more. Aside from traditional wedding venues, wedding cancellation insurance also covers specialty weddings and cruise weddings. Destination weddings outside the US are covered (Canada, UK, Mexico, Caribbean Islands, Bahamas, Bermuda, Puerto Rico) and cruise ships departing from approved ports.
Markel’s wedding liability insurance offers protection if a wedding guest is injured at your event or causes property damage to the venue for which the honoree is liable. This is a good solution for venue’s requiring liability insurance, as Markel can name the venue on the Certificate of Insurance for free. Up to $2 million in coverage is available up to 24 hours before the event.
If you do purchase a Markel wedding liability insurance policy but choose not to purchase the full Markel wedding cancellation/postponement policy, you are also eligible to add on $5,000 of wedding cancellation coverage for only $50.The added wedding cancellation protection helps cover any non-fundable deposits, up to $5,000, if your wedding is cancelled or postponed due to an unforeseen circumstance. Please note, this option is not a full wedding cancellation policy and does not cover some of the "extras" a full policy would cover, such as: lost or damaged photography, stolen gifts, vendor no-shows, etc.
If you purchase both Markel’s wedding liability insurance and Markel’s wedding cancellation insurance, you will save up to 15% of your premium.
