Summary

No annual limits on specific covered services and extensive medical coverage makes Humana’s health insurance plans one of the best plans available. However, limited availability to certain states makes it important that you first check if this is offered in your area.

I am a Clinical Coordinator (CC) in a large hospital in a large city. I searched far and wide for an outlet that would allow me to provide honest, genuine feedback for Humana Health Insurance. I will start off by saying that we ABSOLUTELY DREAD seeing patients that come in with Humana. I was not surprised when surveying other CCs throughout the state who CONFIRMED the same sentiment, along with United Health Care (United & Humana are owned by the same company). Even for our sickest patients, patients that are clearly psychotic or in the intensive care unit, Humana is GUARANTEED to push back and decline coverage for the continued stay. Even worse, our patients with Humana that... Read More

Horrible service, empty promises and no follow-thru. Even shipping out wrong medications.... a somewhat dangerous problem one would think. Then no medications at all. Jeeeze!!! Never call back as promised. Will say anything to get you off the line and hen nothing......

I signed up in November 2018 for 2019 year and was told and have something in writing that reads that part B medicare premiums would be reduced by $50 per month. It is now June 16, 2019 and NOTHING. Humana tells me to contact SSA and the SSA tells me that they do not participate in rebate programs with private insurance companies. If it smells like crap then it must be crap, and Humana stinks of it! I am in the process of writing letters to the HHS and Georgia Insurance Commissioner and BBB. Anyone else run across this problem?
