If the problem is covered by either of these, the appliance will be repaired by a certified technician at no cost. However, if it is not covered, repairs may be offered by the technician at the customer's expense. The protection plan promises basic benefits, such as functional part and labor coverage, normal wear and tear repair, and reinstallation coverage, among others. Unfortunately, the plan's terms and conditions mention that they do not cover accidental damage or abuse, routine maintenance and consumables, and cosmetic damage, unless specified. Here at ConsumersAdvocate we recommend customers to read the terms and conditions thoroughly to inform themselves on Lowe's protection plan features and restrictions. Lowe's also offers a replacement plan, but is only eligible for products that retail for less than $300, after all discounts have been applied. This excludes major appliances and water heaters.

A 5 year Warranty is useless! I have five appliances that were purchased from Lowes, I bought the 5 yr. warranty on each one. My Samsung Washer and Whirlpool freezer went out within days of each other. I set up the claims on line. The first contractor did not show up or contact me until two days after the scheduled appt. I informed Lowes that I did not want to use that contractor. The second contractor, Folsom Lake Appliance Repair sent an email the day of my appt. and rescheduled. They came out a week later. Don't waste your money on an extended warranty at Lowe’s they will not honor it, at least not in a timely manner. We purchase a three year warranty for our Bosch dishwasher it broke after several months short of the warranty expiration. We contacted the Lowes warranty people on May 21, 24 they would get back to us in two days. They did not contact us in two days as we were told we had to contact them and then they told us the number was for a refrigerator not a dishwasher, so we sent them a copy of our receipt which clearly states it a dishwasher. We purchased the warranty on our GE refrigerator and 1 1/2 years later the compressor went. We have been waiting 21 days for a repair. The service provider they deal with has not been out even to see the refrigerator and have canceled repairs on multiple occasions. 21 days without a working refrigerator. We lost everything. And now they want a receipt for the reimbursement of lost food. Who keeps grocery store receipts. Everything is gone. Hundreds of dollars. And continue to lose money as we will don’t have a working refrigerator. It is unacceptable and yet I’m at the mercy of them and the repair service as I refuse to give up and go and purchase a new one.

I will neverbuy another appliance from Lowes which has Whirlpool appliances. Whirlpool has gone to the dogs. I bought a brand new house with all Whirlpool appliances. The washer and dryer was an addition as they were the only appliances that did not come with the home purchase. So far the icemaker attached to the refrigerator/freezer has spewn icecubes into the floor. The dryer push button start has quit working and broke off. After calling Lowes to find a repairman before my warrenty ran out. They gave me a number of a repairperson 70 miles away from my address. Extended warrenty is waste of money .They clam when you buy the warrenty you get 1 year free then you can extend it 3 more years with optional warrenty total of 4 years When in fact you only get 2 year extension . Lies lies. Just so they get a bonus on warrenty sale.

I have never had any issues with repairs! I think people often get confused about who to actually call for repairs. If your appliance is under a year old, you can call any authorized servicer to make the repairs under the manufacturer's warranty. They can file the claim for the costs as long as it's something covered under the warranty. With an extended warranty, you have to call whomever the actual policy is with (not the store), and that company dispatches out an authorized repair company to make the repairs. But, again, it depends on if your extended warranty covers whatever is broken. READ THE FINE PRINT!

A technician came out one week ago to look at our Bosch French Door refrigerator/freezer. The freezer works fine but the refrigerator cannot go below 39/40 and SuperCool setting does not work. A technician came out and looked at it and said he would have to get permission to order a new thermostat. Six days later I'm not sure if a thermostat has been ordered, when it will get here and when he might put it in. Do not purchase Lowe's protection plan. We purchased the plan and tried for 2 weeks to get a technician to check our washing machine. It was not functional. We were told that technicians were not available. We ended up purchasing a new washer from another business. We will not be purchasing any more appliances at Lowes.

Had appliance delivered today. All ready problems. Purchased extended warranty as I was promised could have appliance serviced within 24 hours. Talked to warranty dept at Lowes and they are booking out over a month! So frustrated and feel like I was taken advantage of.

Do not purchase this plan. I bought a new Whirlpool refrigerator that I have had 6 service calls on for the same problem and they still tell me they will not replace my refrigerator. The first time a part was replaced, the second time they tell me my temperature was at the wrong temperature (we never changed it). The third, fourth and fifth time they sent a totally different company who was so incompetent I had to put them out of my house (by the way they changed the same part that was just changed 3 months ago). Today is day 45 without my 2-year-old Maytag Washer! I purchased Lowe's 5-year protection plan for ALL of my Kitchen Appliances that year. The repair company is VIA Services located in Crofton, MD , and the repairmen differ each time (degree of experience is highly questionable based upon 3 separate service calls for the same problem). I called Lowe's Customer Service to speak with the Warranty division, and needed to ask the person that answered to repeat himself multiple times since the foreign dialect was so difficult to understand. I ordered paint from Lowe's which should have been a on the shelf item. There was no Lowe's a thousand miles closer to me and Lowe's send my product across the country and it was supposed to be here more than a week ago. I called Lowe's and they said as long ass it is in shipping, they won't do anything. Until I receive the product, I can’t even cancel the order. I purchased a complete kitchen from them six years ago and bought Samsung appliances. I had the five year extended warranty plan and now my appliances are six years old my $2000+ Samsung gas slide in range oven quit working a month ago. I called Lowes in Sylva,NC where it was purchased and was informed they do not service their appliances. They also refused to give me the name of anyone who did this work. I have already called everyone in the area and no one will touch Samsung. I asked what I should do and the answer was buy a new stove. Zero rating!

S & S Appliance is absolutely the worst appliance repair company I have ever dealt with. I’m really not even sure why Lowes has these people listed as repair people for the Mobile area. Lowes provided these people as a warranty repair service, they are awful. They won’t answer calls, they wont return calls, they have a robocall confirm appointments then into the window of a 4 hours schedule make an excuses why they can’t come and cancel a scheduled appointment. Lowes 5-year, No worry Protection Plan for Major Appliance is bullshit. I called the service number today. My whirlpool dishwasher has worked fine, but the wheels on the front of the bottom drawer fell off on both sides. Ugh... the drawer drags and comes off track every time I open the door. So,.. when I called and explained the issue... I was told that it wasn't' covered because it is a "cosmetic issue". This is not cosmetic... my dishwasher is not in need of a facelift... I just need the wheels to function so I can load my dishwasher!!!

Do not buy this policy. We have had such poor customer service, inability to get correct answers, failure to have accurate records on our washer and dryer. After trying to schedule service we decided to cancel the policy. We cancelled it exactly as required in the Protection Plan Contract. We received an email advising it was cancelled and we would received a check which never came. Have spent literally hours trying to get your customer service and multiple emails. Spoke to 3 reps and was advised it was not cancelled, they could not explain the email received noting the cancellation and the refund and telling me I had made a claim which I had not. Rarely purchase the protection plan but did for our water softener. Unit stopped working and after a long battle of locating the plan, we submitted a claim. Was told they would contact me within 2 days and 10 days later, no response. Chatted with customer service and had to give them all the same information again. NEVER will purchase a service plan again. Avoiding purchasing anything from Lowe's if at all possible.

Purchased a Lowes Protection Plan for my refrigeration that is 14 months old. NEVER AGAIN will I ever purchase from Lowes! The first technician came out on November 11th, 2022 and informed me that I needed to have my coils cleaned as that was part of the problem and it would be an additional 175.00 service that I would need to pay for out of pocket. I have an extended warranty and Lowes sent out Astro Appliance , Inc. on some issues regarding my washing machine. The technician, although very pleasant, did not speak English (he had only been in the states for 6 months from a Eastern European country) so it was very hard to communicate what I had been experiencing. I have had the machine for 4.5 years and know it's features, sounds & functions. Although he couldn't get the lock function to work and the "sensing" phase took a ridiculous amount of time, he could find nothing wrong. I will be asking for someone else to come out. I called around the 13th of September regarding my refrigerator and was told they could get here on 10/6. I then asked for that to be escalated due to our inability to use the refrigerator and was informed I would hear back within 2 to 3 business days. when I did not hear I called back and was informed that the person I originally spoke to did not make the appointment escalate it and I would now have to wait until 10/10 before anyone would arrive. I made a claim with Lowe's Service Advantage around 8/17 expecting to have a technician come out in a few days to fix my broken dishwasher. In fact, Lowe's Service Advantage scheduled the appointment for 8/22 or 8/23. But then JDS Appliance Repair texted me at 4:50 on Friday 8/19 to say that they needed to reschedule the appointment because they needed to order a part. I bought a Lowes Protection Plan with my washer/dryer. While under this plan my dryer would not heat; the first guy came; “fixed it with a fuse” and left. Did a load of laundry; would not dry the clothes although the dryer got hot.
