CenturyLink provides transparent service level agreements (SLAs) outlining what customers can expect from their network. A reliable network is especially important for business owners because downtime could cost the company quite a bit of money. CenturyLink promises a 99.95% uptime, which is pretty high. If the company is unable to keep its promise for some reason, it will refund customers a portion of their monthly bills. This type of transparency and fair pricing isn't something you see with every business internet provider, so it's not something you should take for granted. It also offers similar agreements on its VoIP service for businesses that are interested in this.

Availability

CenturyLink offers DSL and fiber optic internet in all 50 states, and it also offers fixed wireless internet in select areas. Customer Service

CenturyLink received fairly average customer ratings in the American Customer Satisfaction Index (ACSI) internet service providers survey. This survey didn't break the results down into residential vs. commercial customers, so it's difficult to say how it would have fared if only business customers were surveyed, but it would likely have scored a little higher seeing as the majority of complaints you find against CenturyLink online have to do with its residential services. A high volume of complaints in general isn't unusual for internet service providers, so CenturyLink's average rating isn't particularly concerning. Contract Flexibility

CenturyLink doesn't require its customers to sign a contract, so you can pay as you go. There is a one-time setup fee and a monthly modem fee in addition to the regular monthly price, but this is also contract-free. If you decide to go with one of the company's internet and phone bundles, you will have to sign up for a two-year contract, but doing so locks in your rate over that term whereas customers who only purchase business internet could experience rate increases from month to month. Still, CenturyLink offers some of the most flexible business internet plans around so it's a good fit for companies who want the freedom to choose their services and whether or not they agree to a contract.
