Waldo is a brand of contact lenses sold by Ainsly Ltd, an English company based in London that was founded in 2017. Waldo sells contact lenses through its website via a subscription that can be canceled at any time.

Waldo offers consumers inexpensive contact lenses that are ordered online and delivered to the customer's home. Customers enter their prescription data into the company's website, select a delivery date, and arrange for payment with PayPal or a major credit card. Lenses are typically delivered in two or three days. 

Services and Features

Waldo lenses are manufactured to the company's specifications by Pegavision, a Taiwanese company.  They're made of a hydrogel material which has high water content, rendering the lenses more comfortable on the eye. Lenses guard against the transmission of harmful UV radiation and block 70% UVA and 95% UVB rays.  

Types of Contact Lens

At present, all Waldo lenses have a base curve of 8.5mm and a diameter of 14.20. However, the company expects to add other configurations eventually. Lenses range in power from -12.00 to +4.00. Colored lenses, lenses that correct for astigmatism, and multifocal lenses are not yet available, though again these product features may be added as Waldo grows and matures. 

Customers must have a prescription in order to purchase lenses.

Shipping & Handling

Once a customer's prescription has been verified, shipments of lenses should arrive within 2-3 business days. Orders placed by customers who live outside the continental United States may take somewhat longer to be delivered. The price of delivery is included in the regular $36 order price.

Customer Support

For people who don't have a regular eye doctor, Waldo offers referrals to vision care specialists who can issue a suitable prescription. Customers can pay for their lenses with PayPal, credit cards, or Flexible Spending Account or Health Savings Account money. Questions and customer issues can be addressed by calling the company's toll-free phone number, contacting Waldo on social media, or by email.

For several years I had good service with Waldo; however, last November 2023 I was billed $114.30 for a box of contact that I did not receive. After several attempts through phone messages and text messages I received a response that the lenses were back ordered and please be patient. I was assured that I should have them by January 1, 2024; however, still no contacts were sent to me. Then today, February 1, 2024, I was billed $129.30 for another box of contacts! After numerous attempts to contact Waldo, I get a automated email saying I will be served shortly. This is no way to run a business. Please DO NOT have any business with this company!!

They’ll lied about your transaction being incomplete. Have proof from bank statements and they got caught in their lies when they sent me a copy of my account, where it stated right on there that my payment was succeeded! Ordered from them in January 2023 and still have not receive them. Save your money and headache and go buy it somewhere else.

Their shipping is totally unreliable. They make you pay monthly and you may or may not ever receive the contacts. If you contact them, they tell you all of their contacts are backordered. They are very courteous and respectful, but they just keep taking your payment. February 15 payment was supposedly shipped April 3. Still waiting. March payment is backordered. April payment CANCELLED - not paying for something they don't have.

I was a loyal customer for years, never had a problem with my monthly subscription plan. I recently discovered that I was getting charged monthly for contacts but I had not received them in quite some time. I tried emailing, texting (their preferred method of contact. texted them five times over three days), Facebook Messenger and Instagram Messenger, and commented on multiple of their social media posts to no avail. I finally was able to get someone on the phone and they told me that they are having a supply chain issue YET they are still charging us monthly. This company uses numerous deceptive business practices and has illegally charged me money for a three month prescription before I ever even received the trial lenses, which were horrible. They continued to send me the product I was illegally charged for even though I paused my account- you cannot cancel it online, and then demanded I send back the product at my own expense for reimbursement of the funds they illegally charged my credit card. It’s the worst customer experience I’ve ever had and can’t believe they’ve scammed so many people and get away with it. Shameful that nobody has shut them down yet.

This company did not verify my prescription and sent me contacts that were not going to work with an astigmatism. They offer no refunds except a company discount which is worthless if you can't wear their products. the contacts are so cheap and not wearable.
