FreeCreditReport by Experian offers reliable credit reporting services from a trusted financial partner. In 2005 the website was updated to include a disclaimer about their Triple Advantage Credit Monitoring program due to legal issues stemming from an inadequate disclosure of terms and conditions for the plan. The company has since changed its approach and now discloses there will be a fee associated with their monitoring services after the free 7-day trial period. Despite their minor shortcomings, FreeCreditReport.com remains a convenient and easy to use resource offering all the tools consumers may require to keep track of their credit and improve their score. Although obtaining your credit report and score from FreeCreditReport.com comes at a price, the service remains among the most affordable in the market and offers excellent benefits most consumers will likely find enticing.

FreeCreditReport.com's credit monitoring services with identity theft alerts, data assets, and analytic tools, can help customers manage their credit and obtain the most relevant credit offers for their particular situation. Experian's free mobile application provides the same features, including credit change alerts, simple credit summaries, and toll-free support seven days a week.

A new feature to FreeCreditReport is Experian Boost. This free utility can help customers increase their credit scores using only their positive payment history. Experian Boost works by leveraging utility bills customers are already paying and takes effect immediately.

FreeCreditReport.com Plans & Pricing

Plans and Pricing - 5 / 5

Experian has changed its modus operandi and no longer requires clients to enter their credit card information to obtain their free credit report and score. However, the company will ask customers to provide credit card details for the free 7-day credit monitoring trail. Said membership might be changed without charge at any time within nine days from the date on which the order was placed, but if the membership is not canceled within that timeframe the company will automatically charge the client and the monthly/annual fee will be billed to the credit card provided at the time of enrollment.

FreeCreditReport.com Reputation & Support

Monitoring and Extra Features - 4.5 / 5

Neither FreeCreditReport.com nor ConsumerInfo.com have ratings with the Better Business Bureau or Trustpilot.com, and there are few online customer reviews for either site from unaffiliated sources. Experian Consumer Services itself does have an A- rating with the BBB based on mostly negative reviews from customers dissatisfied with the company's products and services. Negative feedback aside, Experian does provide a mobile phone application that allows customers to quickly and conveniently monitor their credit information and receive both push notifications and emails with important alerts.

Went to the site and filled in the requested info , but no credit card info. Nothing mentioned about a charge for the "free" service. Saw the reports on the site online later and checked my credit card. Yep , was charged $26.95 within seconds. Cancelled the account immediately!!

This is false advertising - took all information on myself s coupe things to dispute - did not give me a fico score. What is the point = to get fico score - - - not free. On my husband's i missed one q - about why checking credit (guessing why) they cancelled - for 24 hours, before can try again. We were forced to go bk about one year ago & not mentioned! Both waste of my time & very irritating!
