Sesame matches patients with health care providers in their area, depending on the service being requested and the availability of doctors in that specialty. 

Patients have several options when searching for doctors that can treat erectile dysfunction. The website provides different ways to select the type of healthcare required. Patients  can choose from the Services tab, which includes telehealth visits, in-person doctor visit, and video prescription refill, among many other services. Sesame will then produce a list of medical providers near you that offer those services. 

Patients can also choose the Type of Care they’re seeking help for. This includes urgent care, prescription refill, imaging, mental health, and, in the case of erectile dysfunction, men’s health. There is also a Symptoms tab which includes maladies such as back pain, diarrhea, dizziness, fever, and sore throat, but it does not offer a specific symptom for erectile dysfunction.

The availability of medical professionals that can treat the condition will depend entirely on the service providers in the area. This means it might make it more difficult to find specialists in more remote locations.

Ease of Process

Sesame excels in the simplicity and ease of its service. The website automatically determines the user’s location to establish the pool of medical professionals from which to choose from. Patients just need to select a type of care, service, or symptom and a list of the available medical professionals is provided. Patients can then compare prices, browse the healthcare provider’s profiles, and choose one to their liking. 

After choosing a provider and appointment slot, patients need to complete a form with their payment information before completing the booking. It’s that simple.

Pricing

The costs of services will vary depending on your location and the type of service being requested. Searching for doctors in New York City, we found that telehealth visits were generally more affordable than in-person doctor’s appointments, for obvious reasons. Additionally, consultations with MDs were more expensive than those with nurse practitioners. In our cursory search, we found telehealth visits as low as $26 (though most were found in the $50 range) and in-person visits as low as $55 (with most costing around $110).

Nevertheless, all costs for visits and consultations are prominently and clearly displayed next to each health care professionals’ profile, making it easy to compare and choose. In contrast to many other online healthcare services, there is no subscription fee, only the cost of the visit, which is paid upfront. 

Provider Credentials and Medical Expertise

Sesame’s selection of healthcare professionals include medical doctors, nurse practitioners, advanced practice registered nurses, and doctors of osteopathic medicine. Most telehealth consultants practice family medicine, internal medicine, adult health, and urgent care. These are all general areas of medicine that can deal with any ailments, including erectile dysfunction. 

One great thing about Sesame is that it provides profiles for each medical professional, listing their credentials and specialties, as well as the languages spoken. This gives the patient more freedom in choosing the healthcare expert that will best suit their needs.
