There are only two ingredients to date that have been FDA-approved for the treatment of hair loss and proven by medical research to regrow hair (and then only for some people). Minoxidyl is applied topically to treat baldness and finasteride is taken internally. While these products are effective in treating male-pattern baldness, their efficacy appears to be more limited in women. Hush & Hush products do not contain either of these FDA-approved ingredients. Any claims you read about hair loss products that contain the words "clinically proven" or similar language—on Hush & Hush's or any other website—should be viewed in this light. Clinical studies are often funded by product manufacturers themselves or other organizations that have a financial interest in their outcomes.

Hush & Hush positions its products as luxury nutraceuticals. A bottle of Deeply Rooted, its only product in the hair loss category, costs $75 for 120 capsules. The company recommends taking 4 capsules a day. Used as directed, a bottle will last a month. They also recommend that you continue to use the product for 7 months for best results. That's a significant investment to make for many customers, but it may seem like a small price to pay to others. Hair loss has the potential to deeply affect people's self-image and confidence.

Subscriptions can be difficult to cancel and many customer complaints—in a wide variety of consumer product categories—surround being billed for products and services after attempting to cancel a subscription. While Hush & Hush does offer savings on each bottle of Deeply Rooted when you sign up for a subscription, customers can choose to purchase a single bottle of the product at a time.
