Hotels.com is a great alternative for looking up hotels or alternative lodgings. Its website is somewhat disappointing, however, as its clumsy interface means that of its best offers won't even show up until careful examination of the page. However, its search engine is efficient, and its rewards program is strong and easy-to-understand. Moreover, Hotels.com's app is very well designed and greatly enhances the experience of using the booking site.

You can change or cancel your lodging booking either online under your Reservations when signed into your Hotels.com account, or by calling our customer services number 800-246-8357. You can change your guest name, bed type, smoking preference, special requests, accessibility options, room type, number of guests and travel dates at no charge to you by Hotels.com. Lodging suppliers may impose other change and/or cancellation fees. Charges vary by reservation, so please review your confirmation email for details. You agree to pay any supplier required cancellation or change fees that you incur. In limited cases, some hotels do not permit changes to or cancellations of reservations after they are made, as indicated in the rules and restrictions for the hotel reservation. You agree to abide by the terms and conditions imposed with respect to your prepaid hotel reservations. In the event that a hotel is unable to honor your booking, Hotels.com will not be liable for any cost incurred due to relocation. If you do not show for the first night of your reservation but plan to check-in for subsequent nights in the reservation, you must confirm the reservation with Hotels.com no later than the original date of check-in to prevent cancellation of the whole booking. If you do not confirm the booking changes with Hotels.com the whole booking may be cancelled and refunds will only be due to you in line with the Rules and Restrictions of the particular hotel, as notified in the booking process. These terms and conditions may not be changed by any unauthorized person, including employees of Hotels.com.

Hotels provided me with a voucher refund rather than money due to a covid cancellation. I booked the next trip using the voucher and once again the province went into lockdown. Hotels.com kept the voucher booking and won't refund it.

The service is terrible! I searched for hotels in my area, and I booked one that was recommended. I noticed very quickly that the hotel I booked was actually over an hour from the location I searched. I canceled within 10 minutes, but was then told I wouldn't get a refund. I called and spoke to three people for over two hours asking to either get a refund, get a credit to use at another hotel, or get the booking reinstated and was refused. Absolutely terrible service. Do not use!

Do not book through hotels.com, I tried it to save a few bucks on a booking, but it was a bad idea. My booking was "guaranteed" by hotels.com, but the hotel never received it and didn't have a room available. I had to take my family somewhere else late at night, and then fight with Hotels.com for 3 weeks for a refund.

I don't know how your company remains in business. You have the worst customer service I have ever encountered. You farm out your "customer service" overseas to people that barely speak English and I am sure you pay them coins. I far as I am concerned, you suck and I hope you rot in hell.

This is the worst company ever, I had a trip in the beginning of COVID19 that was cancelled because the world was cancelled. They refuse to refund me my money by stating this is a non-refundable trip. I would not agree to this company or book another trip ever through it. The world is still not open and they are still holding to this statement. When you call them you get an over seas operator that laughs at you and says this is all we can do for you.

I made a reservation, chose to pay at hotel option. Once i made the reservation, hotels.com had already taken the money straight from my account. I called, the rep. said i will should be happy that i will receive my money within 30 days. Never ever use hotels.com as there options of payment are fraudulent.

What a shameful bunch of liars Hotels.com are, I wish you had a zero star rating!!! Not an "A" Because of COVID-19, my 20th Anniversary $4175 hotel reservation had to be canceled. Luckily, we had paid for the trip throughout the year, as I am a teacher and it was an around the world trip. My husband has had a kidney transplant and is now diabetic due to the anti-rejection medications. He works in the travel industry and was taken out of work and put on disability early on. We contacted the hotel and sent them the doctor's letter stating he could not travel to these locations or travel abroad. They were gracious, kind, and fine with refunding the money. DO NOT RISK YOUR MONEY! I made a reservation and within 10 minutes cancelled. The website said a deposit was required for a December 2020 stay. Yet, when I logged on to check my credit card, Hotels.com charged the entire stay (nearly $6,000.00) to my account. So, with the "free cancellation" that they offered I cancelled. They haven't refunded the amount to my credit card and are using COVID-19 as an excuse to delay. When I spoke with Hotels.com the "customer service" rep said it would take at least 30 days (first he said 35) for them to supply the credit. The unique situation presented by the COVID-19 pandemic caused us to cancel our wedding and honeymoon, which was to include a stay at The Hotel Jakarta Amsterdam for which we paid Hotels.com a $519 non-refundable deposit about 7 months ago, before Covid-19 even existed. Our flight to Amsterdam was canceled by the airline. Our cruise (which was departing from Amsterdam) was canceled by the cruise line. None of this was our fault–we simply have no way of getting to the hotel unless we walk from Los Angeles, which is a really long walk and then there’s the Atlantic Ocean in between, and neither of us can swim that far.
