Candid is a mail order invisible braces company that offers an alternative to both traditional metal braces and invisible braces that require a periodic visit to the orthodontist. Candid customers prepare a dental impression at home, which Candid uses to make custom aligners to straighten customers' teeth, all without having to visit an orthodontist.

Their product is fair to pretty good. What I don't like are the sharp edges of the aligners. My mouth has endured scrapes, scratches and pinches; as well as my fingers when I rinse them. My tongue, cheeks and gums are sore from the abrasions. They tell me to brush and floss (which I do and always have,) and blame a lack of hygiene which is nonsense. It's impossible to wear them 22 hours a day as recommended when they're so uncomfortable. Until they make their product more bearable, I say do these at your own risk. If you can stand to wear them as directed, they do work; but good luck.
Candid has terrible customer service and they do not care if the customer is satisfied at the end of treatment. I went through my 16 steps to straighter teeth and still had some teeth that did not track completely. I needed a few more steps for my teeth to be completely corrected. I went round and round with agents who explained it was completely my fault because I did not send in scans in a timely manner. Scans....They did not stand behind their product because of scans? Scans that receive the same response and "notes" every time because they are computer generated. I wore my aligners consistently and only removed them when I ate. From the beginning, Candid states that your treatment is under the care of an orthodontist. I started my treatment in January 2020. After my initial six-month treatment, I contacted customer service and requested a phone call or email exchange with my orthodontist, since I felt that my teeth were too crowded and would therefore not straighten. I was told that customers cannot contact their orthodontists directly, and had to instead explain my dental concerns to staff with no dental training. I have gotten nowhere with Candid. Their aligners are defective, they have TERRIBLE customer service (two weeks to respond to calls or emails) and they won't help at all. I followed all of the recommendations, wore them 22hrs a day despite the terrible lisp and pain, and now they won't help me with aligners that actually fit! Their defective product won't straighten the teeth that their defective manufacture don't cover, and they don't fit at all.
I wanted straighter teeth for my upcoming wedding, and now I not only still have crooked teeth but an additional $2k gone.
Do not, whatever you do, use Candid!
This company is just horrible. The customer service won't answer your emails or calls. The treatment will take forever. They promised me to finish my treatment within 5 months, after 11 months my teeth are still not aligned. I am already doing my third refinement treatment. Spare yourself all the troubles. It's just a never-ending story of getting a hold of someone and of disappointments. I am regretting it so much that I went with this company. They have no doctors and are not helping at all.
I purchased candid for my 18-year-old daughter. She went in for the fitting on her own, but I had to then go in on my own to get the Affirm financing to process. Got it all to go through and at the time I was verbally told we could get a refund if it did not work out for her - which I was surprised and happy to hear. Approximately 4 weeks later we still had not received her aligners. She had wanted to start using the aligners in the summer before college began and I had been billed by Affirm for a product we had not received yet. Terrible experience and waste of time. I am supposedly done with my treatment but it's looking nothing like what they promised. Most aligners they sent fit quite poorly since they were bigger than my teeth. It took almost 9 months for them to send a proper form to my insurance company for me to get reimbursed. I went in to the actual studio to get new films done since my treatment didn't work as planned. I've been waiting for over 2 months for an update. Every time I call, I get a different person and I have to explain what is going on. Nobody ever calls me back, even though they promise up and down that I will get a call within 24 hours. I have had a terrible experience with this company. I got my kit back in January. It was beautifully packaged and the whole presentation was great. Their marketing and advertising is great. Here I am in mid August. I should be about done with my treatment, but instead I'm not even a quarter of the way. I have fought and fought with them to try and get help and answers. I have done everything they have suggested. They ask every single time if I'm using my chewies. YES I'M USING MY CHEWIES. I even went back 4 full steps. Every time you call it's a different person. I received my aligners yesterday. I couldn't get my bottom to fix, called my personal advisor, she told me how to adjust it. Now it's working. I read all the negative reviews, this has not been my experience with CandidCo. Granted, i have a long treatment time, it could change, for now I'm happy.
I would not recommend Candid to anyone. I've been using the Candid aligners for about 6 months now - when I got to my 11th aligner it didn't fit and then the nightmare began. Customer service is terrible - there is no coordination of care, every time you call you get someone else. People seem to come and go very quickly. I've been stuck in my same set of aligners for over 2 months now waiting for someone to get back to me about what to do next. I'm starting to doubt whether any actual orthodontists work there - I highly doubt it - I think these are some guys with a 3d printer in their basement and they hired a bunch of minimum wage workers to answer the phones and now have grown too big,...
