Overall Rating: 4.4 / 5 (Excellent)

HealthInsurance.com enables you to quickly compare several Medicare Part C and Part D plans if you're interested in going beyond Original Medicare (Parts A and B). It doesn't sell the insurance itself. HealthInsurance.com partners with several leading insurers to help you find the right policy. Its service is free to use and it may save you some time if you don't want to apply for quotes on several different insurance websites.

HealthInsurance.com Coverage

Level of Coverage - 4.5 / 5

You can purchase Medicare Advantage (Part C) and prescription drug (Part D) plans through HealthInsurance.com. You can also purchase Part C plans that also include prescription drug coverage. Once you enter your zip code, you can view all of the options in your area, view their details, see if they cover your prescriptions, and enroll if you find one you like. You can also compare up to three plans side by side.

Plan Types

  • Plan C - Often referred to as Medicare Advantage, it offers the same coverage as Medicare Part A & B, but is offered by a private insurance carrier instead of the government. May include additional coverage benefits for the same cost as Part B premium.
  • Plan D - Also prescription drug coverage, seniors are encouraged to enroll if they have Parts A & B. Many Part C plans offer prescription drug coverage so you may not need a Part D plan.

HealthInsurance.com Pricing

Services - 4.3 / 5

Healthinsurance.com provides consumers with many Medicare supplement insurance choices and simplifies the process of comparing plans. Premium costs depend on where you live and which type of plan you choose. Many of the Medicare Advantage plans do not have a monthly premium. Part D plans usually do, but prices can range from around $13 on the low end to nearly $100 on the high end. The only way to know how much your policy will cost you is to explore the options in your area.

HealthInsurance.com Customer Experience

Reputation and Customer Experience - 4.3 / 5

Healthinsurance.com has an A+ rating with the BBB, with only one complaint filed. This complaint had to do with the amount of email the customer received after providing contact information through the healthinsurance.com website. This is a common complaint among people who use marketplace-type sites. In order to provide you with a quote, healthinsurance.com shares your personal information with underwriters, which is a legitimate and necessary use of your data. However, in the case of health insurance.com, their privacy policy states that the company may also use your information for marketing and referral purposes. That means they may sell your information to other companies.

If you have any questions about using the healthinsurance.com website, you can contact HealthInsurance.com by phone or email for more information. But it's not the company that will be underwriting your policy, so if you have questions about the terms of a specific policy, you should reach out to the health insurer who offers it. It's always good practice to do some research into the company you'll be purchasing a policy from to make sure they're financially stable enough to pay out claims when necessary. Check consumer reviews, as well, to find out if customers are happy with the customer service they receive from Healthinsurance.com and the underwriters they refer you to. HealthInsurance.com partners with several leading health insurers, many of whom receive high marks for financial stability on such websites as Standard & Poor's and Moody's.

HealthInsurance.com Financial Strength

Financial Strength - 4.4 / 5

HealthInsurance.com is a Medicare marketplace, not an actual insurer. It pairs you with its partners and after you sign up for a policy, you deal exclusively with the partner. So you won't find any financial strength information for HealthInsurance.com. Look this up for your insurer, though. Ideally, you want scores of A- or better. These indicate the insurer is financially stable and capable of meeting its obligations to its customers.

Horrible company, most of the supervisors are clueless running around like chickens with their head cut off. Seems like they learned nothing from being bankrupt.
