Coverage
United Health Care offers seven Medicare Supplement insurance plans. Each plan provides full coverage of basic benefit items plus supplementary coverage. Below is a brief description of its Medicare Insurance plans and coverage.
Plan A
- First three pints of blood
- Part B co-insurance and/or co-payments
- Part A hospice co-insurance or co-payment
- Part A hospitalization co-insurance, plus hospital costs for up to an extra 365 days after Original Medicare benefits are exhausted
Plan B
- 100% coverage of the Part A deductible
- All plan A benefits
Plan C
- 100% of Part B deductible
- 100% of Part A co-insurance for skilled nursing facility care
- All Plan B benefits
- Foreign travel emergency health care up to plan limits
Plan F
- Foreign travel emergency coverage up to plan limits
- All Plan C benefits
- 100% of Part B excess charges
- Comes in a high-deductible version where the policyholder will be responsible for all Medicare covered costs until they reach the plan deductible amount
Plan K
- 50% of the cost for the first three pints of blood
- 50% Part A deductible
- 50% Part A hospice co-insurance or-co-payment
- 50% Part A deductible
- 50% Part B co-insurance or co-payment
- 100% coverage of Part A co-insurance and hospital costs for up to an extra year after Original Medicare benefits are exercised
- Annual out-of-pocket cap which varies from year to year
Plan L
- Covers same benefits as Plan K except that the benefits covered at a partial amount are covered at a higher amount. It includes a lower annual out-of-pocket limit than Plan K which varies year after year.
Plan N
- 100% of the Part A deductible
- All of the basic benefits listed above
- 100% of Part A co-insurance for skilled nursing
- 100% or the Part B co-insurance except for co-payments of up to $20 for some doctor visits and up to $50 co-payment for emergency room visits that do not result in an inpatient admission.
- Foreign travel emergency health care up to plan limits
