To compare mortgage options through Zillow Home Loans, borrowers answer a brief series of questions to provide information on their home, income, estimated credit score (range), and other factors that influence what kind of mortgage for which they may qualify. Once they have submitted their information, a loan officer will reach out to the borrower. In contrast, some mortgage lenders return estimated non-binding offers immediately when they are provided with personal and loan information (similar to that included in Zillow Home Loans's questionnaire). Some borrowers would rather have the option of browsing offers before speaking with a loan officer.
