Account Creation

Signing up for an account on Dating.com is fairly simple. You provide an email address, set the most basic match parameters, answer a few basic questions, and upload a photo to create a simple profiles.  Users are given the option of joining using their Google email information. For people who visit a lot of websites and don't want to create separate log-ins and passwords for each, that's a real convenience. However this feature turned out not to work when we tried it. After several attempts to log in using Google, the site directed our reviewer to a blank page with no options for getting further into the site. Not a deal breaker, but not particularly confidence-inspiring.

Interface

Whether you will find an attractive match on Dating.com is a questios that's up in the air. But we can say for sure that the site is attractively laid out. One interesting feature the site offers users is the option to customize their experiences to suit their mood. You get to specify whether you're in penpal, romantic, flirty, serious, or even naughty mode during any given session. Dating.com is also available as a mobile app for both iOS and Android users.

Plans and Pricing

We've already mentioned Dating.com's rather elusive free membership. Paid memberships are available for $19.99 per month, but the steps up to their other plans are rather steep: $149 and $299 per month respectively. Each membership tier comes with a set number of credits members can use to message, chat, or subscribe to another member's channel. According to Dating.com, this "pay per action" model allows users to pay for as much or as little service as they wish. Individual actions come with their own price tags. But it's unclear if, after paying for your monthly credit allotment, any unused credits are refunded or carried over to the next month.

Messaging Options

Dating.com offers members a full range of communication options: traditional inbox messaging, live chat, and video chat. You can also join in on a broadcasting member's live stream and post messages as you watch.
