Google Slide is the search engine giant’s answer to Microsoft’s PowerPoint. True to its other offerings, it combines simplicity with functionality to create a full-featured presentation software that’s free to use. Google Slide is one of the tools included in its Google Docs productivity suite. It is fully integrated into Google Drive which does not only save your work but also allows you to share it and work on a single presentation in real-time with multiple users.

Features

Google Slide contains hundreds of themes, thousands of fonts, embedded video and animation all for free

Never worry about lost work due to computer crashes or lost storage media. Google Slide syncs with Google Drive to automatically save your work

Access to your presentations anywhere, anytime both offline and online

Collaborate with co-workers simultaneously in real-time

Supports Chromecast and Airplay which lets you play your presentation anytime

Compatible with PowerPoint. Google Slide lets you open and edit PPT files, convert PPT files to Google Slide and vice versa.

Compatibility

Google Slide is part of Google’s productivity suite and is fully integrated into Google drive. All this is automatically stored in Google drive at regular intervals. Like Google doc files, stored files can be shared, accessed and edited by multiple users. It also comes with a revision history function that gives users access to an older version if necessary.

Google Slide is compatible with PowerPoint. It allows you to import and edit PowerPoint files to Google Slide or use your Google Slide file in PowerPoint presentations.

Ease of Use

Google Slide like most Google products focuses on simplicity and functionality. And this is certainly reflected in how the controls are laid out. It certainly lacks some of the bells and whistles that some of its competitors have but is still effective in producing clean and simple presentations. Those familiar or have used Google’s other productivity tools will have no problems using its simple functions and friendly layout.

Pricing

One of the best things going for Google Slide is that the service and all its features is completely free. All it requires is a Google account which is needed when downloading the software.

Summary – Google Slides Presentation Software

With its limited editing features, Google Slides still has a lot go before becoming the go to software for creating presentations. Being an entirely free service however makes it a perfect option for students or those who don’t require the use of dedicated professionally prepared presentations. Google Slide help you focus on creating the story without spending too much time on animations or transitions.

It is overall a good presentation software, however it is INCREDIBLY inconvenient to add equations or formulas in a slide. It's actually impossible without something called Math Equations add-on, but this app is still lacking. Please fix this!!!

Would be greatly enhanced if music could be added, slides could automatically be advanced and more interesting animations were included.
