SlideRocket Presentation Software Review

SlideRocket recently acquired by ClearSide, is a cloud-based presentation software. It is a slide-based presentation software that is compatible with PowerPoint and Google presentations. SlideRocket was designed to make creating presentations quick and easy by offering a simple but capable presentation editing interface.

Features

Creating a presentation begins with selecting a slide from existing themes or creating a new one. To create a new slide, you just have to choose from the numerous controls and features located at each side of the screen. The right side of the screen contains controls for customizing text while the left contains shortcuts for importing multimedia content, charts and images.

Uploaded images are saved in the “Asset Library.” To use an image, simply select from the list of available images. This makes it easier for you to use images for future use instead of constantly searching for images from another folder for each new slide.

SlideRocket is a cloud-based presentation software that takes full advantage of using information from the web. Adding video to a slide only requires you to click on the Video button conveniently located at the main toolbar. You can then import graphics or sound as necessary to each slide.

Charts are an excellent way of showing the relationship of each data. SlideRocket comes with a set of preconfigured charts designed for this purpose. Simply click on the chart to edit or enter new data.

SlideRocket also makes it possible for multiple users to collaborate on a single presentation. Access to the presentation and files can be done anywhere, anytime through online access.  

Measure the success of your work or simply get feedback with polls at the end of your presentation. Select from preconfigured text boxes and layouts that contains multiple choice questions. An analytics tab in your dashboards gives you useful insights such as number of views, time spent viewing the presentation and feedback.

Compatibility

SlideRocket allows you to import PowerPoint and Google presentation files. Existing slides can easily be combined and edited with its own design tools and later uploaded as a completely finished presentation. You could use a variety of themes and layouts. It also supports multiple media formats and files including charts, audio, video and flash files.

Another interesting side to presentation creation with SlideRocket is its ability to embed data from public information resources like Flickr, YouTube or plug-ins from Yahoo. You could use these elements to provide real-time data for more dynamic presentations.

Ease of Use

SlideRocket offers a simple step-by-step process for creating professionally looking presentations. This makes it easy even for first-time users with little or no presentation software experience. Controls were clearly laid out, labeled and explained. Importing presentation files from PowerPoint and Google presentation was easy. You could mix and match or elements from an existing presentation to create an entirely new presentation.
