Soft-Lite Elements windows are HORRIBLE! My windows have gaps where the weather stripping doesn't even touch the frame and can FEEL air coming in. Supposedly Energy Star rated for super low air infiltration, these windows leak as bad as my old single panes. DO NOT BUY.

Softlite Barrington double hung windows. I would have preferred a satisfactory solution to their warranty on the windows via BBB (Akron, OH) but that failed. The limited warranty simply means they will replace the glass part of the window (not the gas between the glass), in the event the seal breaks but you must pay for shipment of the glass and labor to put the glass into the old sash. Since the only option to get the argon gas between the 2 panes of glass is to buy the defective (top or bottom) sash, you must BUY that entire sash and still pay for shipment and labor. So, what good is the lifetime warranty? To me, none. Quite deceptive marketing.

We purchased a large foyer window for our two story home from Southwest Sunroom & Window Co. , 625 College Ave. Salem, Va. Although we thought the window to be expensive at the time, we were willing to pay their premium price for the window because Southwest Sunroom & Window Co. emphasized the selling point that they would install it and offer a lifetime warranty. They absolutely DO NOT stand behind their word nor the product they sold us. After approx. 9 years the glass in the window started turning black on the inside and developed spots. When I called Southwest, Kevin responded by telling me he was sorry but the window was made by Gorrel and they had gone out of business about 2... Read More

We would not recommend these windows to anyone. We have had nothing but trouble with these windows from the start. The district manager came to the house and told me it was my fault. I don't know how I could get the seals to go bad the first year or have the hardware full apart when you raise the windows up or down. I was glad my husband was home when I was cleaning them or I would of had glass every where. The window came off the track. Do not pay these windows. Not a good deal at all.

My soft lite windows are 9 1/2 years old. The temperature have been hot this year. We find the windows to be doing a great job keeping the heat back. However 2 of our windows have moisture between the 2 pain window . How does my warranty work?

My order started on August 1 of this year 2019 only 3 windows. It was finalized in November 4 months. They couldn't get the bronze type color to match all around. Apparently the glass with grids is made somewhere else. After the window colors were finally matched one of the grids in the bedroom is not straight. The kitchen window is offline ( top and bottom)does not aline up and down. I would be very cautious if you by this product from this company. If you do check the windows very carefully before giving the installer the money.

Sof Lite bought Gorell Windows and Doors. Gorell had a lifetime warranty on their products; Sof Lite does as well. Our Gorell patio door frame, cracked, the gas has leaked from the window and the rollers have rusted. We contacted our local supplier who installed the door just under 10 years ago. We were informed that Sof Lite bought Gorell. We like the workmanship of our dealer and installer but we are amazed that Sof Lite does not hold up the warranty for Gorell. Now we are faced with replacing the door at full cost. Homeowners be sure to ask if your warranty will hold up under new business ownership before you buy and replace!

If I could leave negative 5 stars I would. Whole house replacement, complete with full frame tear out. "Factory Installers" (not sub contractors) were not fit to change light bulbs let alone install windows. Windows are 10 times worse than our previous 25 year old Anderson windows. The company is great about responding to your request for service, but they send the same Mickey Mouse people out each time, who try to tell you every reason under the sun why the windows are not the issue. They are great at putting ridiculous band-aids on their shoddy install, and telling you they are doing it in "good faith". I would not wish their product or service on anyone.

Read the warranty, you have to pay them to inspect your window, then all shipping and labor cost are on you For a replacement window. A real BS warranty and good luck on even getting a call back. Never buy from these people again
