I had a sliding door for my patio installed 9 years ago. In June 2022 suddenly I heard a crack in my door and in a few hours all the glass pane shattered into pieces all over the floor. I called the warranty dept of Thompson Creek. They said that they will send someone within two days. The technician came in and took pictures and measurements of the door. Then the company was quiet for a while. After I called them the company said that it will cost us $900 for installing the door. That means the claim that the warranty is covered for 50 years was just a trap. If I could go lower than one star I would. I began the process of new sliders and windows in October. Prior to my virtual appointment, I downloaded and installed an app that takes pictures and converts them to rough measurements. It made that appointment pretty easy. So far so good. My wife called a few days later to pay our project in full and received a receipt stating paid in full. (IOT to get points prior to vacation). At some point, actual measurements were taken onsite and an install date in Dec were established. Original install date resulted in one door completely the wrong size. 8" or so. I am very disappointed with my experience Thompson Creek Windows. I initially placed an order for a custom steel door and frame, but changed my mind and cancelled the contract. Now, it has been hell trying to get a refund of my $1,500 deposit. The sales representative Francis Yates will not return my phone calls, texts or emails. Every time I call the main Thompson Creek number to inquire about my refund, there is one excuse after another: (1) the refund request is awaiting approval; (2) the Project Coordinator Paul said he believed the refund is in process but promised to look into the matter and email me an update - that never happened; (3) no managers are available for me to speak to... The sales pitch was great and for the most part the staff was really nice, but as others have stated, the finishing craftsman ship was poor. The windows have visible nails and scuff marks and the latch portion wasn't fully screwed into the frame in one place. I also got a door and had issues getting the door frame the right size and then they had poor scheduling and then they left divots in the door frame that apparently are "always" there from nailing in the trim that they can't cover up. I wanted to like them, I wanted to use them again to get the rest of the windows for my house, after more than 6 weeks of trying to get things right from the initial install, I am just not going to try...
