Good Sam RV Insurance review
This company is crooked as hell. They charged me a renewal fee after I sold my camper and canceled the policy. When I called to get my money back they hit me with a $50 cancellation fee. Who keeps paying for a service you don’t need anymore? Don’t use these crooks!! One star cause they don’t have negative one

We've had excellent service and rates from National General over the years for motorhomes and travel trailers. We just bought another trailer and are going with them again!

I had a policy to cover my class C for the past four years. I NEVER had a claim, not one. Then we sold the RV and have not yet acquired our new one which is a couple of months away. They wanted to charge me $50. for CANCELLING the policy??? I went ballistic! This is TOTALLY wrong. I asked to have a call back from someone "higher up" after the sweet little girl on the phone told me twice, "it is in the contract". Well, she was right, but I still think that SUCKS. It would be like going to the same supermarket for four years and then deciding to go elsewhere and getting a bill for $50 because we stopped shopping there. The idea is ridiculous... and sound like pure greed. Anyway... I suppose because I complained, I did get a call back the next day and was told that they would be mailing me a check for the $50. in the next couple of weeks.... we shall see!!! I did get the refund they owed me as a credit to my credit card (less the $50), It is not the money in my case, it is the principle. Until they TAKE THAT OUT of their contract, I will not be going back to them for coverage on my new RV. And that... is the rest of the story!

After going thru the website to purchase coverage, still had to talk to an agent and go all the way BACK and repeat all the information by phone. A real aggravation.

Good Sam RV Insurance review
Unfortunately in April 2017 I had to file a claim for my 2010 Allegro motorhome with Good Sam. All I can say is that the agent Katie Pitts was extremely courteous, professional and efficient. I am a USAA customer for 38 years and I didn't think other companies could/would compare to the outstanding service I received from Good Sam/National General insurance. I previously used Progressive and cancelled them because when I moved from Florida to North Carolina, Progressive transferred my policy to NC but reported to the state of Florida that had cancelled my policy instead stating that had moved and Progressive was still insuring me. I found this out when I went to the DMV to request a new license in NC. Officer told me that my driving privileges were about to be denied. Needless to say when I called Progressive I did not get anywhere. I had to write a letter to Florida DMV with proof that I always had coverage. A major nightmare. Meanwhile Good Sam folks were very helpful and easy to work with. Calls and emails were immediately answered. Great service. Now I don't know if because of this claim if Good Sam will drop me or punish me with a very high renewal rate.
