Founded in 1980 and based in Englewood, Colorado, Dish Network, is a telecommunications company that provides satellite broadband services. This service provider offers a variety of programming including local channels, movies, sports and HD channels, and Latino and International programming. DISH also provides the most innovative technology with a Smart HD DVR (Hopper 3 DVR) and free Voice Remote feature.

Services and Features

DISH’s Smart HD DVR can record up to 16 programs at once. That is nearly 2000 hours of standard maximum show storage and 500 hours of HD show storage. It also allows consumers to watch up to 4 channels at the same time and comes with built in apps like Netflix and Youtube. The satellite service provider offers live recording, foreign language channels, and parental controls.

DISH provides satellite plan subscriptions that start at $59.99 per month with 190+ channels. America’s Top 120 package (the company's basic package) includes ABC, Cartoon Network, CBS, CNN HD, Discovery HD, Disney Channel (East and West), ESPN, E! Entertainment, Fox and more.

DISH delivers HD services free for life. The company offers more than 6,500 free on-demand titles, local channels, free premium channels for 3 months and access to watch TV regardless of location through their DISH Anywhere feature. Dish requires a 24-months agreement period.

I have been a Dish customer for over twenty years. It was a great experience UNTIL the last thirty days. I had recently upgraded my TV so I called to ask if I needed to upgrade my Dish receiver. I also had been experiencing some unusual receiver issues this month. I was told I could not get service on my current unit or a receiver upgrade UNLESS I agreed to a two year contract with Dish. They also wanted me to accept a service agreement at approximately $11.00 per month. I did not agree. Poor customer service. Recording devices are in-home boxes which are inferior to other providers on-line recording capabilities. Amazon Prime, which we watched for years, is now unwatchable - typically does not even allow access. Finally, against my specific instructions, they "gave" us two additional pay services (Stars, which we already had, and Dish package). Then charged an additional $30/month. Was on the phone over 30 minutes with customer service to complain and demand our money be refunded - they charge for 3 months. This company is full of crap they lie and the service sucks none of their stuff works the way they claim and the customer service is not American based every time I have called I have had some foreign person that you can’t even understand what they are saying and they constantly add charges to your bill without consent and think you will just pay and not question it. As for what they claim they provide as service is not true either their dish anywhere doesn’t work most of the time it may start for a minute then stops working. The worst provider of service ever.

One star because it will not let you post if you do not. DISH SUCKS!!! On installation Sherman TX by Cavender's, just as bad in customer service. With Dish for 3 years after close to 20 with DTV. Both raise rates at a rapid pace the very second the contract is up. The day of installation, even Clark Cavander could not get the voice control to work. Said sometimes it takes up to 30 days. I knew that was BS, new equipment should interface immediately. Three years later, still didn't work, never returned any calls. i HAVE BEEN LOSING CHANELS i DID THEIR PROCEEDURE TO CHECK THE SYSTEM SEVERAL TIMES. i CALLED THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE AND AFTER EXPLAINING THE PROBLEMS WAS TRANSFERRED TO THEIR TECHNICAL PEOPLE AFTER BEING ON HOLD TWO TIMES FOR OVER AN HOUR EACH TIME i NEVER TALKED TO A TECHNICAN. nO CUSTOMER SERVICE AT ALL

On May 17, 2023 my home was struck by lightening. Two of my dish receivers and the attached tv’s were damaged. I called Dish and was told that since it was a catastrophic event, the receivers would be replaced for free. A tech responded a few days later and checked the receivers. He replaced one of the receivers with a new one, which I had a working television to hook to it. It works fine. He advised the other receiver just needed a new power cord and it would work fine. I did not have a working tv to confirm the receiver was working but was assured it would work. Fast forward to today. I purchased a new tv today. We changed to Dish after being with DIRECTV for 20 + years because of AT&T destroyed their excellence in customer service. We hoped DISH would fulfill our expectations and maybe exceed them. Here are our 3 "W", We Were Wrong!!! We went all in with Dish, we got their top of the line box, and even purchased a sound bar for $200.00 on the day of installation, not knowing that the installation was NOT being done by a DISH technician. The subcontractor was very nice, but when he came in to install the box, it was not the top of the line we were told we would get. Regretted getting service as soon as I went thru the 190 so called channels I signed up for. Most are channels trying to sell you something. Others show nothing but reruns! The movies are edited to the point of being ridiculousness. Should have just went with streaming services.
