The BBB site shows that PODs HQ has over 2000 complaints in the last 3 years.
This site states that the BBB rated PODs A+. That is false information... The BBB site shows their HQ as unrated, and the Las Vegas branch near me as an F. I'm currently having to deal with them delaying my shipment, not placing a move order even at the delayed time period, then delaying it again and charging me for an additional month of storage because of their errors and delays.
-My experience with PODS was HORRIBLE. -Initially advised that my belongings would fit into one large POD. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case. -After spending over the $3,000 to PODS, the cost of an additional POD for the next day was exhorbitant, -Was therefore necessary to rent a UHaul trailer, add a hitch to my new car for over $500, along with the inconvenience of driving 1,400 miles with the trailer attached. The reason I chose PODS was to avoid exactly that. -Next, PODS changed the pick up date to pick up the POD parked in my driveway for three days after the quoted date. Moving from Austin Texas to Wann, Oklahoma. Wann is 20 miles from Bartlesville, Oklahoma. PODS would NOT accommodate my move because it was 20 miles beyond their territory, even if I paid for the extra mileage and/or driving time. No other PODS serves this area. Sorry PODS, you miss out on a $20,000 move.
Every Bad review of this company Every bad review is absolutely true. God I wish I listened to them. It has been an absolute nightmare. I am a disabled Veteran, severly disabled and had to move. I called the Farmingdale N.J. location. They dropped off two POD units with no signed contract. I had some friends help me fill them. PODS came and instead of shipping direct to my new home, they put them in storage at a facility in Farmingdale, N.J., while debiting 250. a month each for 6 mos.. I found that trying to get them released was never going to happen, poor Customer service, and the storage fees were just escalating, I never signed a contract for either, they are in possession of stolen... I chose PODS because it was convenient for storing my items at the facility, then have them moved to my new location. I am moving 208 miles away and just to move my container it was insanely expensive. They canceled my order saying that I did not accept the rental agreement in time, when I did. They keep charging my card with unexplained charges. When it comes to customer service explaining the charges it was very difficult to get answers from them. They charged me twice for transit fees and when they did that they said my card was declined and they were going to cancel my order again! BECAUSE THEY CHARGED ME TWICE!!! My POD was to be delivered 11/3/2020 as published on my account on their website. I paid for the transportation on 10/19. I arranged my scheduled, my family, my time off work and my movers to receive the POD 11/3 and unload by 11/6 for pick up (before my next monthly fee). It appears the POD never left NY as scheduled. I called Customer Service four times and received zero information. Finally reached someone 24 hours after it was supposed to be here, only because I escalated to socialmedia. Their new plan was for the POD to still not leave NY until Friday 11/6 (still two days away!) and not arrive to my house in FL until the NEXT Friday 11/13. This is completely unacceptable. I’m... PODS has been the most expensive and most dissatisfactory business experience in my entire life. I ordered five containers over a two year period. The last container I ordered they sent to my deceased mother’s house which was sold nearly two years before. This was despite having told the representative on the phone that it was the wrong address. That mistake caused me a five day delay in delivering the last container. Thanks to the colossal incompetence of the PODS organization (more to the point, DISORGANIZATION) I barely finished packing at the very last hour of the day that we closed on our home sale.
