Noom offers personalized, direct-to-consumer weight-loss programs and health-coaching solutions through its online platform. It has a focus on treating chronic and pre-chronic conditions, such as hypertension, diabetes, and obesity. The company is based in the Greater New York area and has additional offices in Seoul, South Korea, and Tokyo, Japan.

Services and Features

Noom promises to help customers lose weight and prevent or treat health conditions through comprehensive changes to their eating behavior. They contrast this approach with traditional diets, which are designed only to limit what a person eats instead of changing how a person eats. The program's mobile app—an essential part of its functionality— makes this easy by keeping track of meals and other related activities, like the number of steps taken in a day. Being able to speak with others in support groups and the added assistance of a personal coach also ensures that users are surrounded by like-minded individuals who can lend each other a hand in the process.

Before providing users with a comprehensive weight-loss plan, Noom guides them through a short questionnaire. The process is what helps them outline a personalized plan for customers and can be finished in as little as 30 seconds. First, Noom asks what the ideal weight a user wants to reach is, as well as their height and current weight. It then asks for the user's gender and age range. A series of questions regarding their eating and fitness habits then follows. Afterward, Noom inquires about the user's health, such as if they suffer from significant problems with their back, have taken antibiotics in the last 2 years, and if they have been diagnosed with or received treatment for diabetes.

Noom's two-month custom course weight-loss plan is individually designed for each customer by world-class doctors and psychologists and is proven by top medical journals and institutions, including the British Medical Journal and the University of Sydney’s Medical Center. It is free for the first 14 days so users can determine if they want to follow through with the program or not.

Diet Plans at Noom

Noom is a powerful tool for those who want more than a simple diet plan. Through the use of its powerful mobile app, customers can easily log food, keep track of their wellness goals, contact other users and their personal coach, and access hundreds of articles, suggestions, and research concerning overall health and fitness. An affordable price for the program's two-month duration makes it accessible for just about everyone with a phone as well. Customers without a phone with access to the mobile app should probably search for other weight-loss alternatives, but we can otherwise fully recommend Noom for anyone who wants to change their dietary and fitness habits in a short span of time.

I was initially happy with Noom. All notifications are through the Noom App and texts. After being auto renewed last year (2022,) with no option to get refund, I was not happy and used the app to cancel my subscription. But it offered to remind me to cancel or renew later. I was under the impression that I had cancelled and would be reminded to renew later. When I went through the same thing this year (2023,) with considerably more anger, the app clearly said your have a year left, let us remind you later to cancel. So either way, I never got a reminded through the app or text. I found after the fact, an email reminder. Their subscription policy clearly states no refunds on... Read More

I tried Noom just under a year ago. They wanted an astonishing $149 every five months after the free two-week trial; supposedly this premium price was for the "personalized coaching." However, the personalized coaching was a joke, little better than a bot. I spent several days fastidiously tracking my food, looking forward to getting personalized feedback upon my next check-in with my coach, only for my coach to respond with some nondescript vagueness, "Looks great! What are your goals?" I felt like I was talking to an Amway hun. The app also lacks accommodation for breastfeeding women. I was one month postpartum and asked about breastfeeding and was lazily told, "Just add 500... Read More

I tried for hours to get started and kept getting sent back to do the hinges I had previously done. The notes from staff are obvious boiler plate recordings.the constant marketing for extra stuff is relentless. I’m out the trial fee per your message that said “no refund after the trial period ends”and I was signed up for one day!!

STAY FAR AWAY from NOOM ! Noom is a horrible product that does NOT deliver on its promises and advertising and is extremely difficult to cancel

I lost 33 pounds using noom in just 5 months. It's SO easy and it's really not a diet. It changes the way you look at food and tackles issues mentally. You can still eat what you want, just in moderation but you will learn to choose food more wisely!

I've been using Noom for over two months. It offers what I have been looking for forever. Help with understanding how to lose weight in a healthy way. They help you understand how to change your eating habits for life. There are too many fad diets out there that help you lose it but never help you to understand how to change your habits for life. Fad diets work temporarily and they often don't offer the right support and information that helps you to maintain your weight without a constant struggle. Noom helps you to understand the psychology of what causes you, personally, to eat they way you eat and gives you the tools and support to change those habits. I have a support group that... Same thing happened to me. Tried several times to cancel at the end of the trial and even asked my coach to help me cancel and there was no response. Just a big charge to my credit card. This is no way to run a business!!

What a scam! Reading other reviews, I see a class action lawsuit here. They did the same to me. Wouldn’t let me cancel, charged me $159 and I still can’t take off my credit card. Noom is not transparent, they do not provide the service or pricing they claim. I thought I was signing up for monthly renew but they charged me for 8. It’s criminal. The amount of time it takes daily is greater than 10 min. It is a fussy, cumbersome program not designed for all body types. The low fat diet has proven to not work and that is what they promote. DON’T JOIN!!!!!!

This company was sending me lots of messages with support over the two weeks that I had a trial period. When I decided to cancel, I wrote them notes for three days running, and there was radio silence, and then they charged my account. This is no way to run a business. zero stars.

They charged me for $159 for when I signed up for trail and voluntary payment. Unbelievable. Be careful. It is sad that they take advantage of people like this.
