On July 27th my upstairs zone was not cooling, while the thermostat was set at 78 the temperature was 81. After a couple of hours temperature had not changed. The downstairs zone remained at 76. So I called A #1 Air (Who I had bought an entire system just a few years ago) to sent someone out. On July 28 a tech came out. After several hours he determined that I needed $5,000.00 in repairs. Please note when he arrived downstairs was still cool at 76, but by the time he left it was also 81. I contracted A #1 Air in regards to this issue in particular that I was now worse off after he came out. They said that they would send out a senior tech the next day. The senior tech had a lower... We have been using A-1 for over 15 years, have had 3 or 4 full units installed A/C and furnace. 6/18 /22 had one of the units under warranty with a coil leaking. Alan Sylus (not sure of the last name spelling) came out and tried to tell me it wasn't under warranty...I had the paperwork form installation. He gave me 4 options: add refrigerant $699, put in a new condenser fan motor, contactor, hard start kit, evaporator coil....$4985, all above except new fan motor $3603, evaporator coil..$2705 (which is under warranty) but still $2705.
