Verizon FiOS Business Internet Review
Reliability
Verizon promises 99.9% network reliability to its FiOS business customers, which puts it on par with many of the other top business internet service providers in the industry. It also provides its customers with service level agreements (SLAs) which outline this guarantee. Given Verizon FiOS's high customer satisfaction ratings, it appears the company does a good job of keeping its promises and ensuring the network is reliable.
Availability
The biggest drawback of Verizon FiOS is its limited availability at present. It's only available in metropolitan areas in eight states along the East Coast and the District of Columbia. It's possible Verizon will expand its FiOS network in the future to other states and more rural areas, but for the time being, many businesses won't be able to choose Verizon FiOS for their company's internet because it's not available in their area. But it's definitely worth considering if you live in one of the few areas it does serve. Its speeds and reliability are among the best in the industry and the company has received a lot of praise from residential and commercial customers alike.
Customer Service
Verizon FiOS is unusual in the industry as it's one of the few internet service providers that consistently receives a lot of positive feedback from customers. It earned the highest rating in the American Customer Satisfaction Index (ACSI) Internet Service Provider survey and it's fared well in similar surveys by other ratings agencies, like J.D. Power. It doesn't really have an equal in this respect, so Verizon FiOS is definitely worth considering if it's available in your area and you're comfortable with its prices.
Contract Flexibility
Verizon FiOS offers price locks for one, two or three years, depending on the package you choose. Some of its plans require a two-year contract, but Verizon doesn't make it that easy to figure out whether you must sign a contract or not on its website. It's best to reach out to the company with any questions you have before you sign up so you don't get locked into something you didn't mean to agree to. But given Verizon FiOS's high customer satisfaction ratings, the contract may not bother you because many of Verizon's customers stick with it over the long haul.
