Overall Rating: 3.9 / 5 (Very good)

AT&T small business phone solution plans offer a quick, inexpensive, out of the box setup and require little maintenance and support thereafter. The three plans are light on features and integrations, but are designed to meet the needs of small business owners who want a simple, traditional phone solution for their companies. Notably, the company offers a two-year warranty and free software upgrades. For AT&T's more advanced, enterprise-level phone system solutions see the company's corporate website.

Technology - 4 / 5

AT&T provides VoIP and analog service that can be hosted in the cloud and on-premises. Their three business phone systems are designed to accommodate different business sizes in the small to medium-sized range. SynJ can accommodate 11 users, Syn248 has 24 users, and Synapse serves up to 100 users. Plans feature the company's proprietary phones, cordless headsets, and analog terminal adapters so customers can connect their analog devices (fax, existing phones) to the digital system. AT&T's Syn-themed system is somewhat basic and designed for straight ahead, traditional phone usage. It is an out of the box solution that comes complete with its own equipment, and not something that can work around an existing infrastructure. It is ideal for small businesses just starting out.

Calling Features

  • Voicemail to Text
  • Voicemail to Email
  • Web Conferencing
  • Video Conferencing
  • Conference Calls
  • Auto Attendant

Features - 4 / 5

AT&T's small business phone offering is a little light on the features side when compared with the long lists of facilities some of our other companies offer. You will basically be limited to a group of standard features like ring groups, contact lists, web-based administration, three party conferencing, dial by name, voicemail and auto attendant.

AT&T Plans

Plans - 3.8 / 5

As with some other companies, AT&T does not advertise plans or pricing, even for its small business phone solutions. Prices for handsets, accessories, and other hardware are not specified so they will have to be factored in as well. In order to build a quote for your particular business, you will have to contact AT&T to customize one.

AT&T Integrations

Integrations - 4 / 5

Designed with small businesses in mind, AT&T's three Syn-themed plans do not offer much in the way of integration with other business applications. The plans feature an administrative web-based dashboard where users can access some of the features of their phone system like voicemail and contact lists.

Support - 5 / 5

AT&T support is available by phone 6am - 5pm PST, Monday - Friday. The company is also available over email as well. One thing that sets AT&T apart on the customer service side of things is their industry leading 2 year warranty, free software upgrades, and advanced replacements to prevent business interruptions.

Warning to any small business do not get any phone/VOP Internet system form AT&T . You will regret having the AT&T Business Phone and Internet in your office. They will promise you great service and support but ignore you if you place a service call or have any issues with billing or any related problems with their system. They do not care, and only want your money with no accountability on their part. Money, is the goal and customer service and loyal customers does not matter to AT&T. Plain and Simple Truth from a Small Business stuck with At&T till my contract ends. I would give them no stars.

they are con artist crooks and liars. They get you in the door with false promises and awesome promos then find a way to make sure you dont actually get the promos that are offered. i sent them two perfectly working cell phones and for six months i only recieved one promo after six months of asking they finally came out and adv that one of the phones was broken and they paid me for it. they paid me a 30 dollar store credit card for my 300 dollar phone and didnt even tell me thats wat the card was for i thought it was to make up for all the issues. I am only six months in on my contract and i will be paying off and moving service to any other company but this one. WHATEVER U DO DO NOT USE... Read More

I was with AT&t for years and went through pure hell, most of the time crying on the phone because I just couldn't get them to do as they promised. My bill this year went from 388.00 a month to 550.00 a month for 6 lines, I was done with them! Someone from Ooma called me and I was hesitant to switch but I did, he told me the phone lines are 20.00 a line, I got my first bill and it was 120.00, as Brandon promised me it would be. Their customer service is amazing I'm on and off the phone in 5mins, with AT&T, I waited up to 2 hrs for them to clear up my problem, I would recommend Ooma to anyone I promise you won't be sorry, unfortunately they only handle land lines, home and business phones... Six months ago we had a $2500. charge on our bill for "equipment not returned". We spent more than a month trying to find this piece of equipment and only after asking several times did they supply a model and serial number to identify if. As it turned out it is the router that we are actively using and they made the mistake. But before we could figure this out we had to pay the bill or risk the loss of service (which is more than twice the cost of other companies). Since they would not refund the money we had prepaid bill for several months but I am sure that it took more than 10 hours on hold and searching for the box. The worst service ever. Lately our lines have been going... Read More
