Rise Broadband is the largest provider of fixed wireless broadband service in the nation. The company serves residential and business customers in 16 states and focuses on providing services in rural and otherwise underserved locations. Rise Broadband's parent corporation is JAB Wireless, which was founded in 2005.

Rise Broadband operates fixed wireless networks, which work by transmitting radio waves from the company's base stations to a receivers located in their customers' homes. Fixed wireless networks rival traditional often rival cable and fiber optic networks in terms of speed. Rise residential customers can expect speeds between 5 MBPS and 50 Mbps, depending on the plan they sign up for. These speeds suffice for many households, but might hold you back if you're a gamer or wish to stream from multiple devices simultaneously.

Unlike some of the companies we favor, Rise does not provide unlimited data plans, but rather a range of plans offering various combinations of speed and data maximums. However, you're not required to sign a long-term contract with Rise and can pay on a month-to-month basis. That gives customers a chance to check out their services without losing a bundle of money in early cancellation fees. Rise also provides customers with a free router but charges a $149 installation fee when you sign up for service. However, if you choose to commit to a two-year plan, you'll receive half off the standard installation fee. Higher speeds and data limits come with Rise's longer-term plans.

The basic no-contract rate for Rise service is a very reasonable $29.99 per month for speeds up to 25 Mbps. That price is guaranteed for 12 months and will increase by $20 thereafter.

Rise also offers several tiers of customer support plans with fees ranging from $9.99 to $19.99. Their high-end support plan includes cybersecurity features that include malware and virus protection and removal service.

Rise Broadband is also one of the few internet service providers we've found that receives excellent customer reviews and an A+ rating by the BBB.
