if I could give no stars I would. not sure if it is the company I work for or the Ameritas but the customer service is the worst I have ever had. It seems all they are really interested in is collecting their weekly money but not putting out any services! Online accessibility is the worst I have ever encountered. it's designed to not really offer you any assistance if you have a real problem accessing their services.

You cant access your account. you cant even register online account. Due to web page problem. You send e-mail to one of customer services (claim or info.. etc)... they wont reply. (im still waiting for it. taking 6 days so far) you will never get forms via online if you are individual plan holder. (you can get claim form in you are group holder. google it you will find the form)

Insurance company denied crowns because they didn't do the tooth extractions and the time b/w my implant and crown procedure was too long. So I paid everything out of pocket, both crowns. Then, both crowns failed and I had to get them replaced. Ameritas denied the replacements as well saying with a number of excuses with the best being they were not 5 years old. So be careful with their Benefit summary. They will try to find a reason to deny you coverage. When is a crown not a crown regardless? Well its not covered unless you follow their strict step by step qualifying stages. So no I am going to leave them a bad review. Hope they enjoy all the savings this year from denying people... Be VERY careful when you have Ameritas as your insurance. My husbands insurance, Delta Dental, covered his crown at 50% and Ameritas wouldn't even cover a portion. Even our dentist was shocked that they gave no coverage. We appealed and of course lost. If I could give them no stars I would. They have been the most difficult company to work with I have ever experienced. One would think if Delta Dental would cover something, it wouldn't be out of the norm to expect Ameritas to cover it. I hope we are done with this company!!

I only had Ameritas dental insurance for about 8 months and I ended up paying more with insurance than if I had paid for everything out of pocket. I was reimbursed less than 50% for a resin filling because they only cover the cost of amalgam fillings (!) to the advertised %. Nowhere are criteria for exclusions like this made clear on the website or in the description of benefits. They've used every trick in the book to deny amost claims due to inappropriate coding, from exam fee to individual X-rays. I was completely unprepared for the shock of being denied coverage for such basic procedures since I've never experience that with other insurance plans. This company and their 'business... They are horrible. I had problems with a id no. provided by them & they did not correct it so, the dentist & I spend precious time trying to get it all straightened out. The provide very little other than teeth cleaning which has a deductible so, really you do not save anything by this insurance company. I will be cancelling the policy.

Save your money , I paid 600.00 in premiums, Ameritas Paid a total of $20.00. in claims. Ameritas is a hugh rip off. If I could Rate Ameritas a Minus 5 Stars, thats what they would get.

An Agent offered me Ameritas Dental and vision for $40 dollars and I was charged $58 dollars when I saw the charge in my bank account I disputed the money because I did not recognize the the name Life Insurance corp.. When I call this people they told me they were Ameritas, So I apologize for canceling the payment but I asked them why it was $58 instead of $40 as my Agent told me and they told me that was the total price, so I told them that it was too expensive and did not want the policy and they offered me other prices and I said I was going to think about that , days after that I received a letter from Ameritas stating they could not get the payment from my bank and they needed my... January 21st, 2019 They are absolutely awful. I checked before I went to my eye Dr. and was told about the so-called $100 eye benefit. First off, it does NOT apply to exams as mentioned above. Secondly, they required me to fill out my own claim form and I emailed it to them. The form asks the usual questions like "address". Do they actually, look at that? no. I moved 3 years ago and allegedly, they sent out the check to my old address. The claim form was submitted to them on 11/2/2018 and here it is 1/21/2019 and nothing. Oh I've had conversations with representatives, managers, claims manager---this morning even. I was told I could have the tracking number too. nope.... Read More
