This is the very worst company I have dealt with, Started a loan in September, 13 weeks later still not done, changed terms of the loan 3 times now, lost paperwork numerous times had to resubmit, Stay away from them ,you will be as sorry as I am
If your looking to do this find a company that does a real appraisal. This company does a drive by. They have no clue what your house is really appraised for.
Just received a loan denial from discover loans.
Here are the facts:
1- We own a home valued at $465,000.00.
2- We have a $80,000.00 .
3- We applied for a $80,000.00 home equity loan to rehabilitated our home.
4- We have credit scores of 789 and 829.
5- We were denied the loan because we don't escrow our flood insurance, which is fully paid for the year.
How are these people still in business. They are a total waste of time.
We never able to speak with the same person more than one time.
Please don't waiste your time.
Complete incompetence. Took them over 3 months to try to give us a loan. Submitted all the paperwork they asked for. Waited. A month later they said, oh we need this form signed (they sent 2 different forms, apparently only one was right). Faxed it in. They say they couldn't find it, so i emailed it to them. Then after another 2-3 weeks of me calling and them saying it is at the underwriters, they come back and ask if i have the short sale closing forms from 5 years ago and an explanation of why i did the short sale. I made it thru the point of being assigned a processor. I have a had a poor experience with her. her ability to respond to my phone calls or emails really bothered me. She had asked me to send in a statement on an account that had not generated a statement. I tired several times to inform her of this and reached out to find out what I needed to do, no response. I decided to use another mortgage company.
This is the worst home equity company I have worked with. The loan process took nearly six weeks, many stages without updates on the websites, or returned calls, or returned emails. I never knew what was going on. Finally, at the last minute the loan application was closed by underwriting because they thought I didn't live in my house!
If no stars was an option that is what I would give them. They are all over you to get you to sign on, once you are in they are in absolutely no hurry to do anything or to service you. Took them 5 weeks to verify employment! Any time there was a question or issue I was told I would hear back in a few days, never heard back until I initiated contacting them. Went round and round on an issue for 2 weeks in the end nothing was resolved and we were right back where we started from. Lit into my banker telling them that this was the worse service I have ever received and the sad part was he agreed with me, but they are assigned 50+ loans each. Loved working with my Discover team. This was a very easy process and I was treated like a valued client.
Worst company ever three months of pure hell jumping threw hoop after hoop to get a lower loan
with a higher intrest rate . very poor custmer service .
I wholeheartedly agree that this operation falls far short of the mark when it comes to clear,
timely communication; as a result, the customer suffers...the process is dragged down to heart
wrenching plodding & redundancy. Yet, in my case ( born to be hopeful ), I WILL ( like Faulkner’s characters ) endure & see it through.
