GhostBed Mattresses Review

GhostBed offers four different types of mattresses to the consumer, each one with its own price points and features.

The basic product is the GhostBed Classic, an 11” tall, four-layer mattress, with gel-memory and aerated, non-allergenic latex and high-density support foam. It carries a firmness of 7-8 on the comfort scale (10 being too hard, 1 too soft).

The GhostBed Flex is a luxury hybrid that combines seven layers, including supportive coils and memory foam, in its 13”height. It is slightly softer than the GhostBed Classic, with a 6-7 firmness.

The GhostBed Luxe, advertised as the “Coolest Bed in the World”, is also 13” tall with seven layers, including a 3”gel memory foam. It’s plushier than the aforementioned GhostBed mattresses, measuring a 5-6 on the firmness scale.

The GhostBed 3D Matrix is the plushiest of all its products: a 12” high mattress that aims to provide shoulder, hip, and back support while maintaining a soft surface that contours to each individual. Its firmness scale rating is 4-5.

All four of the GhostBed products carry the standard mattress sizes (Twin, Twin XL, Full, Queen, King, California King, and Split King) except the 3D Matrix model that does not carry either Full or Twin.

Although all mattresses are compatible with outside foundations, GhostBed offers a standard foundation which includes box spring and metal frame all-in-one, as well as an adjustable base that offers an endless combination of positions, several massage modes, and LED lighting underneath.

To round out the sleeping experience, GhostBed offers memory foam, faux down, and shredded foam pillows, as well as sheets, pillowcases, and mattress protectors.

GhostBed’s prices are in line with industry standards. In fact, the GhostBed Classic is more affordable than several other competitor’s models. Since GhostBed mattresses come in a wide variety of types and sizes, the price points will vary accordingly.

GhostBed Classic’s pricing runs from $695 for the Twin to $1,790 for the Split King. The Queen model carries a $1,195 price tag.

The GhostBed Flex costs run from $1,395 to $3,300, with the Queen at $1,945.

GhostBed Luxe’s cheapest option is $1,495 while the costliest is $3,500. The standard queen is $2,045.

Finally, 3D Matrix costs range from $2,050 to $4,100, with the Queen at $2,695.

GhostBed offers financing from three to 36 months, depending on the order. Customers can finance through Affirm loans for as little as 0% APR and with no hit to their credit score. Even customers who don’t get approved by Affirm can still finance through Katapult, GhostBed’s lease-to-own partner.

Aside from the military and student discounts, GhostBed offers 30% discounts to teachers, first responders, and government employees. Customers need to provide ID proof to obtain these discounts.

GhostBed offers an industry-leading 20-year warranty for its GhostBed Classic, and 25-year warranty for the other three models. As with any warranty, there are exceptions, and several criteria must be met to comply with the warranty. But the length of the warranty is longer than many other similar companies.

GhostBed’s 101-Night Sleep Trial is also an attractive selling point. Customers can try the mattress for up to 101 nights and return it for a full refund if they are not satisfied.

GhostBed’s webpage offers a robust selection of educational material, everything from comparison guides to instructional videos. It contains a mattress disposal and donation guide, a comparison section to understand different mattress sizes, FAQs, and a quiz to help you determine the right mattress for your sleeping situation.

Although Nature’s Sleep has been around since 2001, the GhostBed line is a more recent product and therefore does not have any ratings in the BBB. GhostBed has a below-average 2.4 out of 5 rating on TrustPilot, with reviews complaining about orders not going through or the inability to cancel orders once they’re made. However, it should be noted that GhostBed states in its website that, since they aim to ship and deliver within 2-5 business days, orders cannot be cancelled once made.
