Amerisafe is a company that will lie to you and tell you that your belongings will be delivered by a certain date, then you sign a contract that is many pages long. Unless you hire a lawyer to read the contract, you don’t realize that they will turn your belongings over to a company, of their choosing, that may never actually deliver them. When you call them to intervene and help you, they tell you they have no responsibility and you need to contact the mover directly. They are basically a company who takes your money and then washes their hands of you. Awful, do not ever use them.
Amerisafe is a broker that contracts with other companies and is not an actual moving company. While the initial quote from Amerisafe may seem reasonable, be cautious it is misleading and can change significantly. In my case, the cost nearly doubled from $5,200 to $7,200 when the movers arrived and found reasons to increase the price. Customer service from both Amerisafe and their contracted movers is poor. Amerisafe abandons customers when contacted about price increases or damage to belongings. It was the worst experience I had. This company underestimated our move by $9000. They are a third party company. When the real moving company showed up Best Price Moving. They said Amerisafe underestimated our move. Once the moving company shows up there is no cancellation unless you want to lose the money you paid to Amerisafe. So on top of the $17,000 we had to pay an additional $5000 to get the trucks loaded and then when the company showed up with our items we had to pay an additional $4000 to get our items delivered. I was asked for money from the driver on 4 occasions! I was held basically "hostage". The company as a broker was polite in the scheduling and original down payment. I have asked them for full information about the contractor that they assigned the moving process. I have not received any contact from Americans to this date.
I am hopeful in getting this requested information about the actual movers, who could barely speak English and continually complained.
Why hasn't Americans responded? I want to press an investigation on the private movers. I am a senior and as such the FBI considers this will be handled in a more aggressive manner.
