I want to start by saying that I never leave reviews (I have maybe left 1 before), but our moving experience was so terrible that I want others to be warned. My fiance and I recently hired Amerisafe to handle our move from North Carolina to Louisiana. My fiance and dad both spoke to the Amerisafe employee, Jimmy, (I'm honestly not sure what his job title is), and reported he was very nice and helpful. So we hired them and that's when things changed. We had received an estimate, which was below our budget, and we wanted to add on for the movers to do the majority of the packing. We paid $1100 deposit for my mom to be moved from Florida to Texas. They said they would be there between 8am and 10 am...they claim they had a legal window of 8 and Noon. They showed up at 1:30 pm. My mom said no thank you, we got someone else. They will not give her a refund even though they were the ones in breach of contract. Do not work with these people... they don't care about you the customer. We now have an 88 year old woman that is out $1100.
This company is a total scam. First of alll, Amerisafe is not the mover, they are simply a broker that hires movers. They tease you with a low quote but you will pay much, much more as I did (almost double the original quote). Please read all their fine print carefully because they will rape you. Horrible company.
