The company provides treatment for many physical conditions that may require urgent (non-emergency) medical attention, including respiratory and digestive tract problems, allergies, skin and eye infections, and more. HealthSapiens physicians can prescribe a wide range of medications for fulfillment by your local pharmacy. 

On the mental health side, HealthSapiens offers treatment for some of the most common issues patients face, including anxiety, depression, grief, substance abuse, mood disorders, compulsions, and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.  

HealthSapiens doesn't discuss whether its doctors diagnose or treat chronic conditions like hypertension, asthma, or diabetes.

Provider Credentials and Licensures

HealthSapiens states that its medical practitioners are board-certified MDs. This distinguishes the company from other telehealth services that may refer you to a nurse practitioner, physician's assistant, or registered nurse for treatment. For some patients, being seen by an MD is very important. If you're one of them, HealthSapiens can accommodate your preference. 

HealthSapiens' mental healthcare providers are US-based, Masters level counselors and psychologists with an average of over 10 years of experience. These practitioners cannot prescribe anti-depressants or other drugs often used as part of an overall mental health treatment plan. 

HealthSapiens cites these general credentials, but doesn't say much about its providers individually. Similar companies often provide physician profiles for patients to review before they sign up for service. You cannot select your own physician when you use HealthSapiens. Treatment is provided by the first available doctor when you make an appointment.

Prices

HealthSapiens is a subscription-based service that offers monthly plans for individuals and families. With medical plans that provide unlimited provider access available for just $35 a month, it may be a more affordable choice than telehealth services that charge for treatment on an appointment-by-appointment basis. That's a straight-up price: members can consult with enrolled doctors on an unlimited basis with zero co-pay. Also, the family plan covers up to 5 dependents.

Customer Experience

HealthSapiens works as an on-demand service and, from what we've read on various consumer review sites, does a good job of delivering speedy treatment. Patients can access services by phone, online, or through smartphone video chat. The company doesn't provide a mobile app, which may be a drawback for some patients.

HealthSapiens is A+ rated by the Better Business Bureau. Consumers on Trustpilot award the company 3.9 out of 5 stars, which is a very good rating and higher than average in the category of telehealth providers.
