Nolo Personal Injury Attorney Services Review
Research Tools
Nolo's search filters aren't quite as robust as some of its competitors, but they are enough to get the job done. You can filter results by practice area and state and then you're presented with a list of personal injury lawyers to choose from. If you live in a major city, you can filter by city as well. There are no options to filter results by ratings, languages spoken, or years of experience.
Those who aren't quite sure what they should look for in a personal injury lawyer will appreciate Nolo's free evaluation option. You answer a few questions about your case and Nolo will share this information with the lawyers in its network. Up to five of these lawyers may reach out to you so you can compare their services and costs to decide which one is best for you. This option might be best if you don't have the time or interest to search through dozens of lawyer bios and resumes.
Nolo's individual lawyer pages contain the lawyer's contact information, including the company website, phone number, fax number, specialties, and information about fees (if provided). They do not contain any customer reviews, like some of the best personal injury lawyer sites have, but Nolo does confirm that all lawyers featured on its site have valid licenses in good standing, so you can feel confident that whoever you choose, you're working with someone who knows the law in your area.
Communication
Nolo has a live chat feature but it does not connect you to the actual lawyers in the directory. You can reach out to them using the phone number provided in the Nolo database or by checking out the company's website. The database also contains office addresses for those who would prefer to speak with potential lawyers in person. Nolo indicates which lawyers provide free consultations, so you understand what you're getting into before you sign up.
Online Resources
Nolo offers a plethora of free online legal articles, including many pertaining to personal injury law. There are even articles for specific types of personal injury cases, like car accidents. This is a good place to begin if you're unsure what to do following a personal injury and whether filing a lawsuit is right for you. There isn't an easy way to search for articles by keyword, but you can keep drilling down into sub-categories until you find what you need. Nolo is one of the few personal injury law sites to provide some articles in Spanish as well, so it's a great place for Spanish-speakers to begin their research.
