To qualify for a consolidation loan, the borrower must be a U.S. citizen or a permanent legal resident and must have had an annual income of at least $24,000 for the past two years.

Additionally, the borrower must have two years of good credit history, a debt-to-income ratio of 45% or less, and be able to meet other credit requirements.

Consolidation for Federal Parent PLUS loans is also available.
