I have never written a bad review before, so I was unaware that zero stars was not an option. I hate that I'm having to leave even a single star. I wish I had seen all the other terrible reviews. I am sure SquareMouth pays a service to only have the good reviews most noticeable (using our policy money to do so, since they certainly did not cover our losses). I am so glad our hard-earned money can go to supporting a dishonest company. 1. Absolutely HORRIBLE customer service. You can not get through to anyone at any time. The 800 number is a black hole. No one calls you back. Their letters read, "Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any other questions regarding this... Read More

Just like the others. Totally a rip-off. When I went into ER and then was admitted on a domestic trip they were very soothing and told me not to worry, they would take care of me. After a year and a half of emails back and forth asking for many of the same things again and again they ended up saying I breached the contract by not going home the day I was scheduled. It didn't matter how many times I called and told them the Dr. wouldn't release me for travel. Simply I didn't go back on the date that was set when I purchased. But it took months of the trying to deny it for various other reasons. This company is related to Squaremouth and I even went to them to protest, but they sure... Read More

Same as the other complaints. Total ripoff. Will never use again. I had 2 flight cancellations and they want a reason from the airlines as to why? Tin leg does this on purpose because the know the airlines won't give you this documentation. The airline won't give you a reason because they would be held liable

I bought a policy and ended up in the hospital. For 7 months I've been going through hoop after hoop with them and it's pretty obvious they have no intention of paying a thing. Hours upon hours of trying to suffice questions, submit extra information.. it doesn't matter they are not going to pay me a dime. I've now submitted a complaint to the Better Business Bureau and I will contact the insurance commissions as well. I have bought 5 policies from them and this is the first time I've had to use one. If you buy this insurance, you are just throwing your money to the wind.

What a joke! I bought this coverage for a trip to Italy, which was interrupted due to a positive covid test result while we were in route. I followed all their directions on how to file the claim and what I'd need. Luckily, I was able to get alot of my money refunded from Italian itinerary, but they wouldn't pay for any of our expenses due to quarantine. They passed me off to Broadspire to process the claim and I was passed around to 4 different claim adjusters, all of which kept asking for different submissions after one of their predecessors had approved things. I think they just want to tire someone out and not have to pay anything- what a waste of money and hours upon hours of... Read More

I have had a claim pending over 9 months and it is still ongoing. They contract out their claims to other companies who have the worst customer service ever. Do not buy from this company you will be sorry. All they know is delay, delay and delay. How they ever got a review with more than 1 stars is beyond me.

Dear Sirs, I would like to make you aware of my recent challenges with Tin Leg Insurance coverage. After many purchases of travel insurance without ever submitting a claim, I just submitted my first claim and had a very negative experience with Tin Leg. I purchased a golf travel bag a few years ago. The bag was recently lost in San Diego by Japan Airways. After the bag was found by the airline, it was damaged (beyond repair) by the San Diego US Customs Service. When I submitted the claim to Tin Leg with my flight details, lost baggage documentation, evidence of the non-repairable damage, photographs, etc., Tin Leg still wanted to see the “original” purchase receipt. Like the... Read More

I purchased a Tin Leg gold plan with Cancel for Any Reason coverage, and ended up filing a claim due to a medical issue. A routine colonoscopy just before the trip led to a surgeon telling me I had a potentially cancerous tumor the size of a tangerine that needed immediate removal as it could cause a life-threatening blockage. So I could not go on the trip. I filed a claim for 1/3 of the costs that were covered by the policy, not even needing CFAR given this was a medical event occurring to me with no option to continue on the trip, but after six months of stonewalling I still await payment on the claim. Do not use Tin Leg.

I wish I would have checked with my credit card travel insurance benefits, probably a smoother experience in getting reimbursed for hotel, transportation and incidental expenses due to missed flight connection in Europe. So far I am still waiting for a resolution on our claim that was transferred to a different company named Broadspire, part of Crawford...Very disappointed on how they handled our claim so far. We purchased 4 prior policies with Tine Leg and fortunately never had to use them but after the current experience we will not be repeat customers.
