Founded in 2004, Vudu is a digital video store and on-demand streaming service owned by Walmart. Customers can select content for rent or purchase content from a catalog of over 200,000 titles. The company also offers a large selection of free titles on-demand for customers who don't mind watching commercials. Vudu is headquartered in Sunnyvale, California.

Vudu offers a lot of value for budget-minded consumers. Viewers pay no subscription fees to enjoy Vudu content and need not sign any long-term contracts. In exchange for watching commercials—which are generally 30 seconds in length—Vudu offers access to a wide catalog of free films and TV series. Viewers can also rent or purchase some 200,000 titles, including new releases and watch them commercial-free. Rental fees begin at a modest $3.99 per movie title. Some movies may be purchased for as low as $4.99 but others do range into the $20+ range.

Vudu prides itself on the speedy availability of the most current movies. Top titles are often viewable on Vudu the day after they are released on video.  In addition, you can view Vudu content in 4K UHD if your internet pipeline is big enough.

For Blue Ray disc collectors, Vudu offers a simple way to convert physical discs to digital format and store them in your library. When you purchase a Blue Ray disc through Walmart, the company instantly delivers you a digital copy. That makes it possible to watch any movie in your Blue Ray library any time, anywhere, and on any Vudu-supported viewing device.

VUDU CUSTOMER SERVICE IS HORRIBLE! You can call the customer service number and be disconnected numerous times, and they never attempt to call you back! I wrote the following letter to VUDU customer service: I would like to be contacted by a representative of VUDU located in the United States of America, the reason I am requesting this is that the foreign company that you have contracted with to do customer service for Vudu customers is totally incompetent, and the customer service they provide is ridiculously bad! It's not only a communication problem, It's obvious they don't give a damn about providing good customer service, all they do is give you the runaround in resolving problems.... Read More

VUDU uses false advertising and is damn near criminal. They mislead you into believing youre "buying" a digital copy of the content you are purchasing. Then you go to download your film... you can't download it onto your hard drive you may only stream! internet goes out. no movie. bought movies for my lap top but vudu refuses to allow me to down load them. only on mobil phones they say. .... i dont watch movies on a little phone. Trying to get refunds for movies they won't let me download...not refunding me either. VUDU SUCKS

Purchase a movie from Vudu and when it would not play I contacted their customer service. after 4 months of nothing but bot response emails I had my credit card company refund my money./ Vudu removed the movie form their service, others most likely had the same problem. Vudu then cancelled my service when I stopped them from stealing my money by having my credit card company refund it. Do yourself a favor and go use their competitors like amazon, movies anywhere etc.
