You're probably familiar with the term "pre-existing condition." You might also be aware that, in the US, a health insurance plan can't turn you down for coverage if you have one. But that's not the situation with cars and car warranties, which some might consider vehicle "health insurance" plans. ForeverCar is a little bit different from other car warranty providers in that before you can get "coverage" for your car, you'll have to have it examined by a mechanic. Mechanics will note any pre-existing conditions affecting your car and any repair related to one will not be covered under a ForeverCar warranty. Since many car owners seek out car warranties precisely because they know their cars have health problems, ForeverCar's position on pre-existing conditions might make the company's pitch run out of gas quickly. The good news is, ForeverCar does pay for the inspection.

Coverage - 4.5 / 5

ForeverCar offers four levels of coverage: Silver, Gold, Platinum, and Platinum Plus. The company makes sample policies for each of its plans on its website. As you step up to higher-priced plans, more parts are included in coverage. Their top-tier plan includes coverage for windshield wiper blades, fuses, brake pads, and other items that must be replaced periodically. All plans come with roadside assistance, rental car reimbursement if your car is kept overnight at an in-network repair shop for a covered repair, and travel expense reimbursement if your vehicle breaks down more than 200 miles from home.

Limit of Liability: ForeverCar states that its limit of liability is the cost to repair or replace any covered breakdown; but in no event shall this cost exceed the average retail value of your car, as determined by the NADA (Official Used Car Guide) at the time of loss. Total payout cannot exceed the retail value of the car.

This is a terrible company with very deceiving business practices. My credit union referred me to the company, so I made the mistake of thinking they were background checked and s safe bet. Here is my issue, when I was called the sales person advised me the silver package for coverage was a good package to invest in, but the platinum package was the best one they offered. January 2021, I purchased two packages at once, one for my mother (platinum) and one for me (silver). Between the months of April & May, I filed two claim after mycheck engine light come on. I took the car to my mechanic and after troubleshooting the issues he determined the camshaft sensor was band the headlights ECU... Read More

I purchased this warranty 18 months ago and never filed a claim until a few days ago. I recently had an issue with my car and attempted to file a claim since my transmission needs to be replaced. The adjuster refused to approve it and instead kept reiterating that I authorize (aka pay out of pocket) the repair shop to fully break down my transmission and look for another source of failure since I had a fluid leak and need to PROVE the transmission failed for another reason since fluid leaks aren’t covered. I've had other warranty providers and never had to prove the source of failure. Sidebar: I would've stayed with my previous warranty provider (which I had FOR SEVERAL YEARS) but they no... We have a Ford F350 and purchased an extended warranty through Forevercar that did not cover any repairs over the last 6 months. My husband spoke with a representative and said we were interested in the upgraded warranty and the rep sold us a lower grade warranty that did not cover any of our repairs over the last 6 months. We have paid for a $3500 warranty and have had to pay for over $10,000 in repairs over the last 6 months. I requested to upgrade my warranty and was told I could not do an upgrade. After speaking with the warranty company again they said I could cancel my current contract and start a new one that would cover more. I moved forward with this option and was quoted on... warch out where you take your car, dealer is excluded unless you want to pay outta pocket for labor rates that forever car doesn't pay for but they said I can go to the dealer when I signed up. They only pay for one day of car rental when we had the rental for a week, they choose the parts you should have instead of the dealer because they say they can get it cheaper and the parts are not original manufactured parts, so ask lot and lots of questions before choosing these guys, you know the saying "You Get What You Pay For" so watch out!
