Horrible and dishonest customer service. They constantly provide inaccurate and incorrect information. Refused to reopen a claim and apply the inaccurate information. Spent several hours being transferred to numerous departments and then being told that the department I need to speak to is not available. The company only pays 43.00 on a basic cleaning. They will not cover any xrays, nor will they cover any more complex procedures. They outright rejected a few things the dentist wanted to do. Is it just a big scam

PLEASE DO NOT sign up with Delta- they reimburse as little as possible, deny most claims and charge you for preventative care even though the contract says "covered 100%". Their explanation of benefits is vague and suspect to the company's arbitrary decisions. Please do a search on most of DELTA DENTALS reviews and you will see the truth. They are sponging off of AARP, Dept. of VA, The Affordable Care Act and more!! I wish I had read reviews before I took out the policy! After calling Delta to CONFIRM my husband's crown was covered 50% we were sent a letter denying all of the claim stating "this treatment is covered but only when the patient is under a certain age." - REALLY???... After having them for 21 YEARS at my job, my department was fired and I had to find insurance. I thought I had coverage though my new insurance. The day of my cleaning, I called to make sure. The person I talked to at my dentist office said NO NOT COVERED. We reached our quota of 'those people". So I sought out Delta Dental. The woman I talked to today said, no waivers. They did not consider me CONTINUOUS because I had not applied for Delta Dental. I thought this was continuous dental care. She pretty much called me a cheater of the system. That people get insurance and cancel. She would NOT connect me with a supervisor, insisted on talking on the phone and so far NO transcript of my phone... Read More

The hospital where my wife works switched from United Concordia (which was excellent insurance) to Delta two years ago. When this year is over I'll be looking for other options. Delta's allowed amounts are lower than United Concordia's, so even though our plan provides for 100% coverage for checkups, we always wind up with $40-50 out of pocket (with UC our cost was $0). We pay enough out of pocket now that there's almost no point in having dental insurance. And today was the kicker. I inquired about the status of a claim for two crowns. Delta informed me that they did not have a claim for the date I inquired about, which was when the prep for the crowns was done. They told me claims... Read More

Moved from one state to another. Was told i needed to enroll in current state plan. Guess what they required a new waiting period for dental work I was already in the middle of. Not acceptable. Cancelled my policy. Now looking for a new plan.

Delta Dental is the worst... The company has maintained the same "cap" on procedures even as the cost of procedures has skyrocketed... They require the provider to submit in writing via regular mail any claims, then "lose" the claim to postpone payment... When I decided to cancel the policy, I was informed that they would not allow it (no seriously), telling me that I needed an "underlying cause" and in any case would not cancel the policy until the end of the year (and I've been with them for ten years) ...Anyone considering dental coverage should consider a payment plan through their dentist, or other methods to pay for procedures....anyone but Delta Insurance!

They are refusing to pay a bill that is supposed to be covered by my plan. Horrible customer service people who can't answer any questions. I will be lobbying my union to drop Delta Dental, along with other members who have had similar experiences with these scumbags.

$1,000 major coverage first year is NOTHING, even with great teeth. I just learned, after doing biz w/this co. for yrs, that cleanings are NOT paid 100%. They only pay a certain amount & if your dentist wants to charge double that, sorry sucker, YOU pay! I just HATE deceitful liars. Haven't we had enough with the Clintons, Obamas, DOJ, FBI? Enough is enough, folks. So tired of dishonesty!

You say right here "What's Included with Delta Dental" "No deductible or calendar year maximum" and then further down you say "Annual Maximum $1000 per person, per calendar year" Can you please explain what that means?
