Oticon Additional Services

Features and Price - 4 / 5

Oticon hearing solutions are based on the company's BrainHearing™ philosophy. That means they have been designed to support your brain’s natural process of making sense of sound.

Neither device pricing nor shipping information is available on Oticon'a website, as customers deal directly with health care professionals to acquire their hearing aids. Because the company's risk-free trial is administered at the discretion of these third-party professionals, Oticon does not offer information on their site about trial periods, either.

Battery Life - 3.5 / 5

Since Oticon offers such a wide range of products, battery life, charging methods, and charging times vary. You can contact Oticon by email to inquire about battery life and other details for its hearing aids. You can also connect with an Oticon authorized distributor through the company's website.

Oticon After-Sale Service

Customer Experience - 4 / 5

Oticon has a short, 6 question quiz to evaluate customers' hearing capacity. The quiz is not very thorough, but it's enough to advise users whether it would be wise to consider a visit with a hearing professional.

We found that specific information on each of the company's products was a little difficult to locate. It's there—but you'll have to dig several pages deep to find it. Oticon's website could be improved with a single pull-down menu that lets customers explore their hearing aid options easily, as well as a feature comparison chart.
Warranty Length
2 years
Warranty Coverage
Oticon hearing devices are covered by a limited warranty issued by the manufacturer for a period of 2 years and come with a year of protection against loss and damage. This limited warranty covers manufacturing and material defects in the hearing device itself, but not accessories such as batteries, tubing, earwax filters, etc. Problems arising from improper handling or care, excessive use, accidents, repairs made by an unauthorized party, exposure to corrosive conditions, physical changes in your ear, damage due to foreign objects entering the device, or incorrect adjustments are NOT covered by the limited warranty and may void it. Added to this comprehensive Oticon factory warranty is "Precise Hearing." This program gives you 45 days from the date you purchase your hearing aids to return them. If for any reason, you decide to return the undamaged hearing aids during the money-back period, the company will return the total price. However, the free-trial offer is administered by the hearing clinics that actually sell Oticon products at their discretion.

I had problems with their phone and TV adapters and had to return them. Customer Service is poor, not customer friendly, guarded, deceitful, inflexible, and gives inconsistent answers. Customer Service number is not listed in any of their equipment guides (tells you all you need to know), so I had to google to find their number. Option should provide troubleshooting guide in their instructions manual. Equipment may be good, but if you can’t get it to work after two calls and two hours time invested…. Oticon relies upon Customer Service as first line of defense to correct tech problems, reps skillset, expertise, and company longevity varies: None are great. Obvious by their fumbling,... I’ve had a similar experience as one of the commentators above. The hearing aids are quite nice. They help me quite a bit. In fact I would be unable to work at my job without them, as I must interact with a number of people during the course of each day. The rechargeable batteries have proven to be the weak link: Z Power, zinc oxide type, or some such thing. I’ve heard they are switching to more conventional Lithium Ion batteries. As with any purchase, the company who actually sells the product is critical for customer satisfaction. I bought mine from a company called Hear4You in Lincoln, RI. Best company, of any kind, that I have ever dealt with in my life. They stand by you every step... Read More

In January 2019 I replaced my hearing aids after 4 years with Oticon hearing aids with rechargeable batteries. New technology is terrific and have no issues with the hearing aids and their performance. However, I have had significant problems with the rechargeable batteries. After one month one of the batteries failed and was replaced by VA. After 5 months a second battery now lasts about 6 hours and it to is failing. In addition I have found battery chemicals (the type you find when a battery leaks) in the battery compartments of both hearing aids. I used a "Q Tip" to clean the chemical from the battery compartment before it could get into the electronic components. If it had continued... Read More

Having owned my set for approximately 2 years. I was working in the yard and I lost the right aid. I understand that this was my own fault but, when I went to replace the unit I was told that there was no charge. About one hour later I got a call and was told that they made a mistake and that the actual cost was $2500.00 to replace the unit. I spent over $5,000.00 dollars for these units. I don't understand why there isn't an optional insurance policy that will extend the warranty. How does a person on a fixed income come to being able to afford that kind of outlay without an insurance POLICY TO COVER THE OUTLANDISH COST OF REPLACEMENT. NOT HAPPY. NOW I HAVE ONE HEARING AID AND A BILL FOR... Read More

Lee from Glendale, Az...I have owned a pair of Oticon hearing aids since 2010, almost ten years and doing just fine. I would rate the product with 5 stars as I plan to continue using the pair for along as they perform.

for five years I have put up with repeated repair and down time with these top of the line Oticon hearing aids. In my third year in a six month period I went back fifteen times for repairs. This is what $9,000 gets me? When they work, fine. I am trying Costco's next time.

Oticon hearing aids. After spending thousands of dollars and given the impression that Oticon servicing world wide was excellent, the international service has promised is not there. I’m traveling in Mexico for the next few months and the hissing sound in the right ear has made the hearing aids unwearable. All emails to Oticon USA went unanswered accept for a computer generated response sending me back to their web page. Oticon Canada answered telling me to contact an office in Mexico were all emails in English and Spanish have gone unanswered. A new email then back to Canada has now been unanswered. I WOULD NOT RECOMMENDED OTICON HEARING AIDS TO ANYONE.

My experience with oticon is so poor we naught my son Mother hearing aid. Oticon has replaced his heAring aid once but it continues t to stop working every 2-3 weeks. Rhos has caused a huge issue as my son is without a hearing aid while it is being fixed. So essentially he only hears properly 60 percent of the time. We stuck with this company for over a year belie ing it was maybe our fault, a bad bay h of hearing aids ECT... I would run away from this company--due to their poor hearing aids we decided. To buy from another company (of course this is without insurance because we used our claim on oticon). But a little boy needs to hear .

I have had a bad experience with oticon hearing aids. I contacted The Hearing Shoppe in Mt Pleasant, s.c. The experience I had with the audiologist was so negative that I am spreading the word about Opticon hearing aids. I feel that a restocking fee of $200.00 dollars is outrageous. I went back 3x to have my hearing aids adjusted and ended up giving them back. I feel with an up grade opticon hearing aid and further aDJUSTMENTS I could have had a better hearing experience. I made judgements with the audiologist without glasses and severe hearing loss and therefore my disabilities weren't taken into consideration. The audiologist just pointed and told me where to sign. I lost over... Read More
