Overall Rating: 3.5 / 5 (Very good)

Hub by Securly differs from other parental control services as it does not require an app to be downloaded to the monitored device, and can work in tandem with Securly's school-based platform, which is free for parents to use. Securly originally started as a school service that allowed faculty and teachers to monitor students' online. This leading online safety solution for schools alerts staff if students are accessing inappropriate websites, scans for potentially harmful or dangerous keywords and phrases, and notifies of possible instances of cyberbullying.

The Hub by Securly brings these same features into the home enabling parental control 24/7. Unlike other parental control apps that are downloaded to every mobile device to be used, Hub by Securly is an actual device that plugs directly into the home's wifi router enabling parental control of any device creating an effective way to keep an eye on your children's online activities and block inappropriate sites. When children are at school, parents may monitor school device activity the same way faculty and teachers can.

Securly Customer Experience

Customer Experience - 5 / 5

Securly doesn't have much in terms of online reviews, so it's difficult to assess what customers actually think about the service or how it stacks up against its competitors at this point. Also, the company doesn't go out of its way to solicit online reviews because many end up being from the monitored children and can be decidedly negative as a result.

When you sign up with Securly, your first month is free, so you can try the service out risk-free and see what you think before you hand over any money. If you run into questions, you can reach out to the company via its online form or by phone. This is on par with most of the top parental control apps and gives you the option to speak directly to a representative when needed.

I would give 0 stars if I could. Securely is a disgusting invasion of students' privacy, and it convolutes learning with its absurd censorship. I've had a horrible experience with this extension. Whoever invented it deserves to die a slow and painful death for the agony they have caused.

It Sucks. It keeps glitching and making me not even be able to get to google. I had to have my friend e-mail me the link to this site to troubleshoot. I called their support number, and they told me to share my screen, and they did nothing except restart my computer. It did nothing. I would recommend downloading an older version of chrome on a USB stick and plugging it into your computer. That is what I did and now I can access google. Thanks to my friend Oliver, and not your support team.

this is the absolute worst app you could ever create. You blocked discord, and every extension known to man, to name a few. I hope you burn in hell, you foul people. I hope my kids don't have to deal with this bullshit. Do you think you are doing the right thing? you are doing the absolute opposite. the only way to communicate with people is with fucking Gmail. where you can't even make a conversation, it is just an email with many people.

Our middle school uses Securly to make sure we don't see adult content and to monitor our online activity. While I recognize the app is not perfect at screening things, I have had problems with the filtering of child-friendly, educational content numerous times. It blocks things that we need for school even though they are not inappropriate nor graphic in any manner. It also tracks your location which is pretty unsettling and unneeded. Another thing it does is look at your browsing history and basically evaluate it. It has, however helped our teachers make sure that we do not come across adult content and are on track in class, so it has sort of been helpful, but the cons still out way... Read More

(this is the short version of my review) Securly does ok and has plenty of cons that weigh out the pros but Securely is not a horrible program. The design is simple but that's ok. It deserves it's rating and every single student in the entire world does not need to turn on CapsLock and be angry. If you want to rate something 0.5 stars, than have actual reason. Otherwise students can just shut up.

I'm gonna be the only student in the entire world to put actual reason in this and not be every student that has left a hate review on this site like, "OMFG THIS PROGRAM SUCK IT BLOCK EDUCATIONAL SITE AND BLOCK SITE I WANT TO SEE!!! TRASH DELETE NOW!!!!!". I will talk about everything this program/ filter has and give it an overall rating. I will first talk about the design. It's a shield as an application, and it's a cursor about to click a book as an extension. Pretty basic, but it does it's job. I will now talk about the pros and cons of the program. One of the Pros is that it blocks stuff like porn and "adult and suicidal content". I hate porn, so nothing changes there. I... Read More

This is a lot more stupid than any monitoring app in the world. Everytime I go on a frickin' kid-friendly image, they BLOCK me, unfair dude. You should probably take this program down or I will sue you.
