Mother in law had Pella window installed really looks nice about 5 years later the screen was not working properly. Called Pella customer service. Waited 30 + minute to speak with a person. Pella want $150.00 just to come to your home. Thats to decide what parts they need. Another $150.00 visit call to do the work. If you spend a minimum of $500.00 they will refund you $75.00 towards the work and labor. Great products for the most part and expensive then the rack you on the service end of their business. Shop around folks.

Cleaning Pella windows looks easy at the home show, but it is not. I just spent an hour trying to do one window and it is only half done. The windows do not fold out in real life unless a person has a lot of strength. I now have a damaged window frame and a window that is still dirty. Last year I gave up, but decided to try again. It is easier to bring out the extension ladder and clean the windows from the ladder. Very deceptive description of how easy they are to clean. I would never do Pella again.

I signed all their papers and was approve for 21,000 dollars. Then you all ask me to give up my rights to court by signing a paper that allowed you to put a lien on my house without going to court. So I left went to home depot they gave me a 2,000 dollar saving and did not ask me to give up any of my rights.

I won’t know for a while about the quality of the 42 windows I just had installed about a month ago but if they are anything like their customer service, I’m in trouble! After 1 month, we had a date today for them to come and fix some problems. Tech was suppose to be at our house 10-12 am. At 11 am I receive a call that they are short 1 person and they won’t be able to make it. The worst part? They can’t even tell me when they can re schedule. It is apparent to us they are rushing the windows through the factory too fast. Some of ours should have never left looking like they do. I am not at all impressed.

I'm also dealing with a Pella nightmare. I recognized that I was paying a premium price for the job and thought it would alleviate some of the headaches that can go along with a home improvement project. What a misconception! Pella sent their installers out without all of the materials needed to complete the job. So they tore out our old windows and doors and only partially replaced them. Now they're telling me it could be months before they have availability to complete the work! I told them I'd rather they took their windows back and I'd finish the project with someone else and they told me I'm past the cancellation point in the contract. It looks like there are many of us out there. Is... Read More

Purchased 6 outward swing balcony doors totaling $33,000 for my home. After the initial installation was completed by Pella installers, the doors were all found to leak. The leaks caused damage to the rooms below. At the time the service techs found the doors were defective at the time of manufacturing and repaired the seals on each of the doors. Every year since the doors have continued to leak and cause damage at my expense, which Pella won't reimburse me for. The techs returned recently and made additional adjustments to correct the leaks. Their position continues to be that they will stand behind the doors warranty, but they will not be responsible for damage caused by manufacturers... Read More

We had a $4000 slider installed in 2012 with integral blinds. The blinds have failed in one of the doors. They are supposed to have a 10 year warranty. We have been trying to contact Pella for 2 weeks and can get no one on the phone. Very poor customer service. We will not be making any future purchases nor recommending their products. It is unfortunate because we love the door but standing behind your products by being accessible is where the rubber meets the road. If they start losing some of their contactor customers and big box retailers maybe they will have to up their game to stay in business.

Pure crap - bought a house with the unfortunate pleasure of having Pella already installed in a few places. They condense and get mold on them when windows of another brand in the same room do not. The front door is fading and they blame it on a 3rd party refinisher when their own tech says that the doors came that way from the factory. The door warps and is almost impossible to lock when weather gets warm or cold. The best part is that my sliding doors were installed without the optional draw shades that can be installed in the door panels.... so I asked for a quote to get some - $1500!!!! These people have some serious dellusions of grandeur! I IGHLY recommend staying away from... Read More

I am an architect and purchased a home with Pella clad windows and doors. This product should certainly be good when installed, but performance for clad windows should be measured in terms of decades. My windows were installed in the 90s and have leaked water long enough for the wood behind the cladding to rot in several locations. I contacted their local distributor, Gunton Corp., who sent a tech out and applied silicone sealant where the glass meets the cladding. This is ineffective since there is not enough depth to the sealant to act effectively and will fail. Their tech should know this, but like most residential contractors, he does not understand how sealant works. I have reached... Read More

The windows aren't bad but just hope you don't break one. It took over a month to get a replacement. The most necessary identifiers for the window apparently are on a plastic strip and eventually come off with washing so they are impossible after a time to identify. If you have them I would suggest writing the numbers down and putting them in a safe place for possible future use. I sent picture after picture, what numbers I could find and info from the contractor, all to no avail. I went to pella dealers who had no idea. The place where I bought them said this was a major reason why they no longer carried them. Do not depend on distributors to help you with replacements. Every... Read More
