Overall Rating: 4.2 / 5 (Excellent)

Seven Corners is an excellent choice for both domestic and international travelers. The company was recently recognized as a Five Star company by Forbes magazine and, like many other travel insurance companies, has updated its coverage to provide financial protection due to pandemic-related events.
Seven Corners has a strong consumer focus and maintains a small-company ethos, despite being backed by large financially-solid underwriters such as Lloyds of London and United States Fire Insurance Company.

While Seven Corners does not offer the same concierge services some of its competitors do, it provides the most essential types of coverage for our times, including trip cancellation, trip interruption, travel medical, and lost or delayed baggage benefits. COVID-19 related cancellations and medical treatment are covered under Seven Corners some but not all Seven Corners plans. Customers are advised to read policies carefully before choosing one.

The company recently earned a 5-star rating in Forbes magazine's review of top travel insurance companies and earns an excellent rating from users on Trustpilot.

Seven Corners Plans & Coverage

Coverage - 4.5 / 5

Seven Corners offers a choice of nine plans. With as many options as they provide, it's likely you'll be able to find one that suits your travel plans and budget.

Standard coverages, included with all policies, are trip cancellation, trip interruption, emergency medical and evacuation services, and loss of personal property. The company also protects you against weather- and terrorism-related losses and offers riders for such concerns as rental car collision coverage, sporting events cancellation due to weather, extreme sports injuries, and more.

Depending on the policy you select, your coverage limits will vary. Seven Corners' most protective plan includes coverage of $500,000 in medical expenses and $1 million in medical evacuation and repatriation costs.

Some of Seven Corner's less expensive plans do require policyholders to pay a deductible on medical expenses, ranging from $250 to $500. We also noted that Seven Corners is fairly restrictive when it comes to pre-existing medical conditions, with an unusually long look-back period of anywhere from 20 days to twelve months, depending on the policy you select. If you suffer from chronic or recurrent illness, this might be an important factor to consider.

I am a permanent resident of Argentina and have not lived or worked in the US and have not filed a US tax return. I maintain health insurance in Argentina. I purchased travel health insurance for what was to be a short trip to the US in February of 2020. I had to extend the trip because of COVID travel restrictions, continued to renew the policy, and paid the additional premiums. In June 2020, I had an unexpected cardiac emergency, which required many doctors, lab work, and hospitalizations. I submitted all of my medical expenses to Seven Corners Travel Insurance and received EBO’s indicating that the claims were being processed and were under review by them. Then I received a call in... I purchased Seven Corners Insurance for my trip to Thailand. I was in a bus accident three days before I was to return home. The bus company paid my medical for two weeks before I was transferred to a private hospital. My return flight home was cancelled due to Covid. I submitted my claim and was denied EVERYTHING. Seven Corners did not pay a cent of my private hospital bills which totaled $12,888.00 nor did they reimburse me the return flight that was canceled. I will never purchase travel insurance from this company, EVER!!! Below it asks for my rating. They don't have "no stars" which is what I would pick. I wish I would have read the reviews below before I forked out $175 for... Read More

I give Seven Corners Travel Insurance Zero Rating!! We purchased a Roundtrip Economy policy on August 21, 2019 for a Viking River Cruise leaving US on 8/21/20. On 4/15/20, due to the virus and the uncertainties for future travel, I cancelled my trip. I wrote to Seven Corners for a refund or voucher until the trip could be rescheduled and they told me I was passed the 10 day look back and would not issue the refund/voucher. I wrote to HQ and no response. Seriously, worst customer service I have every seen!! What a scam! Even with this magnitude of disaster, only the buck matters with this company. Shame on you, Seven Corners!! CROOKS!

We purchased a Roundtrip Elite policy on 3/3/20 for London leaving US on 3/28. On 3/15/20, due to the virus the government shut down travel to the UK. I wrote to Seven Corners for a refund or voucher until the trip could be rescheduled and they told me I was pass the 10 day look back (by 2 days) and would not issue the refund. They told me they would honor the policy if rescheduled by 3/28/20. Of course, that is impossible to know when it can be rescheduled. I wrote to HQ and no response. Seriously, worst customer service I have every seen!! When all the world is in turmoil, the mighty buck stops there with this company.

Absolutely terrible. This company calls back to the voicemail kings that were big in the early 90s where you wait on hold for 30 minutes at a time just to be dumped into a VM where no one returns your calls. I submitted a claim but have had no one even try to attempt to reach out to me over the past past 3 weeks.

For almost 12 months i have been in contact with this company for a $300-400 hospital bill. Part of my claim was rejected because their travel insurance doesn’t cover really any losses or costs (taxi, hotel, ticket modification etc) related to an illness during your trip (which would be the definition of a travel insurance), but they only cover medical expenses. But my hospital bill is still not refunded, I don’t get real answers from their customer service, and i cannot even access my account anymore online to see progresses, documents, anything. Please asap advise when you refund the hospital bill (i have sent all requested documents moths ago)

If I can give them 0 star it will not be enough. These people are cheaters. I took a travel insurance for my parents by paying nearly 1500 and I went to 5 hospitals today. Every time when hospital staffs call these guys to check if they come under their coverage, they disconnects the call by saying they are busy and will call back. But no one called back even a single time. I myself called them 2 times requesting for this information but no use. They wont care if the customer die also. Please don't fall in this scam. I never wrote any public reviews but it was really frustrating today.

I was initally impressed with the seamless and efficient review process at Seven Corners when I filed my travel insurance claim. However, things fell apart when it came to receiving our approved reimbursements. The first check took 16 days to arrive following date of issue, the 2nd check was received in a timely fashion, 5 days from date of issue and we are still waiting for the 3rd check, 21 days and counting from date of issue. Excuses include; check is in the mail, or lost in the mail. I find that difficult to believe since I've never had a problem receiving bills in the mail from the US postal service. Then to add insult to injury, we were told we would have to wait and... Read More

I'm assuming we are only seeing part of the story behind the negative reviews as our experience was very positive. My wife fell in Athens hurtingn her shoulder which required medical attention, examinations, xrays and treatment for which we paid. When we returned to the U.S., we submitted copies of all invoices and Seven Corners promptly paid in full with no hassles or delays. I suspect many of those who had problems may be self-inflicted by not following some simple requirements.
