Summary

Fetch provides a good mix of coverage and benefit options that makes it a solid choice if you are looking for pet insurance in Canada. Filing a claim is easy and claims are typically reimbursed within a couple of days. The company also features a number of discount options that can help pet owners make pet insurance more affordable. AARP members, Walmart shoppers, and pet parents who adopt can save on premiums, subject to approval. Fetch pretty much covers all the standard items you'd be looking for in a pet insurance provider and more. The fact that older animals are not discriminated against is a big plus, and 24/7 support, comprehensive coverage including payment of the veterinary exam fees, and great customer service are all nothing to sneeze at as well.

I have a same problem as others have. I paid the insurance over 2 years and my cat passed away a month ago. I spent over $3000 but they declined my claim because I didn't do health check-up every year. I even didn't know it until they said that. I asked them where I could find the regulation and it was on page 12 with tiny font. They should put that on the first page and remind it to customers every year. Don't waste of your money, just save it to your account better.

I don't know why this company got 5 stars??? I have been with them over 2 years, recently my pet got urine blockage and spent $7000 but this company refused the claims because we didn't do check up every year as the reason they told. I told them even we do check up every year won't find out urine blockage which happend as emergency and we insured over 2 years. but they still refuse to pay due to the check up policy. I think they only want collect money won't want to pay. STAY AWAY

I used Pet Plan for my last dog and when I used it they reduced my percentage paid by them and when she got old they made my premiums very high. Will not use for my new puppy.

I recently make a claim with Pet Plan. My plan is $300 deductible and they reimbursement 90% after deduction. They are using creative calculation. They deduct 10% from the overall payout first before they deduct my deductible. So I have to pay 10% more on my deductible. For example, if I pay out $500. I am paying out 10% of $500 first. That is $50 and then they use the reminding balance which is $450 and deduct $300 for my deductible. So I am paying $50 + $300 which is $350 and I only get $150. If they deduct my deductible first, $500 -$300 = $200 and apply the 10% which I means I only pay out $20. I would get $180 from Pet Plan.

I am writing today to complain about the poor customer service I received from Petplan insurance company continuously over the period of my pet's insurance plan. when I first signed on, I was asked what my pet is breed was and as noted, his a mix bread (German shepherd and Belgian Malinois cross). one of your agents took the initiative of changing my dog is bred to a pure breed without speaking or consenting with me, my insurance rate went up. I only noticed when viewing my personal banking statement. I called several times for this issue and was told there is no proof that his a pure bread, she did it of her own accord. one of your agents put my plan on hold, assuming that he will... Read More

One of the worst insurance companies I ever had to deal with! My Frenchie had a skin allergy and the vet recommended that he will need blood work. They look back at the records and told me I will not be paid due to skin problems with the eyes :))).

They use to be an amazing company, once the changes happened last year things went crazy bad, i now pay double what I was paying 4 years ago when I signed up. It takes over a month to get any money back if they will even qualify it. my deductible has doubled as well. In order to even have any help you legit need to buy in bulk so you will get even very little compensation. Your seriously better off dependent on the age and how much your paying at the beginning, and putting it into a savings account. The hike in rates yearly is outrageous. My health plan even my vehicle insurance is not near as bad as these guys.

Petplan starts out great, then increases your rates. Had this happen a decade ago with a letter saying we were 'randomly selected due to breed' for a rate hike (after we had 3 claims in one year). Tried them again last year and received a letter at the end of the year saying that they have sold out to a new company and rates are going way up. Cancelled and went with Desjardins instead.
