Summary

Pets Plus Us is a good pick for pet insurance as the company does not discriminate based on age or increase premiums based on claim history. However, annual deductibles do increase every five years but will never go up more than $100 at a time. It's also worth pointing out that Pets Plus Us' deductible only has to be fulfilled annually and not on per condition/incident basis. The company will also cover alternative treatments so long as they are administered by a licensed veterinarian.

I have got to say with my previous dogs I never had any problem with Pets Plus However now since we adopted a 6 year old re-homed dog end of August 2020 i have nothing but trouble. There is very little medical history, 1 previous vet report about neutering and shots. I have been paying Pets Plus us since September, 6 months, they keep asking for the same information that they already have and confirmed receiving in September by email. Now they cannot pay out claims from our vet because of "missing" information, information that they confirmed to have received September 16. They refuse to acknowledge that they sent me an email confirming that they received the info. never seen... Read More

We were switched to this company when PC dropped out of the pet insurance market. Pets Plus us is the worst. Having worked in insurance for 8 years I understand what a contract of indemnity means. They seem to delay every decision in perhaps the hopes that we will give up. Mid year our policy renewed and due to our dogs age we went to a $500 copayment. Fair enough, its in the contract after all. Our dog gets $200 of allergies shots every month so no doubt this is a financial loss for them. After the first 3 treatments were under the copay, the next 2 mysteriously didn’t show in the online portal. Our vet sends the bills but they never show up so I send them manually. I have tried three... Read More

You guys are lying about all of the above services you advised this good services to me before I rolled with you guys and after you got me doing so many expensive test for my dog for you guys to accept him and I choose the most expensive deal for him, since six months ago I am paying $110 dollars because I get 10% discount from Costco other wise it would have been over $120 dollars , and when I submit my receipt to you guys it’s got denied all and on top of that it’s taking you guys months to reply to me; if I knew this couple of months ago I was going to save my self couple of hundred, It’s basically ripping us off with a big smile, I don’t recommend any one to pay them by in rolling... This is my first ever pet insurance for my adopted 2 years old cat, and WOW, what a terrible experience dealing with PetsPlusUs! My cat started having urination problem in September 2020. At the time I have had the insurance for 5 months. After taking him to the vet in October 2020, he went through all the physical examination, blood exam, urine analysis, X-ray procedures to find out what the problem he had. The result was because his urine has a higher-PH level and tiny phosphorus crystals formation. The vet also prescripts the prescription cat food for my cat. After submitting the claim of all the exam, the insurance started asking me to send all the health history of my cat. I submitted... Read More

They will look for any possible way not to pay you out. Don't trust the fake reviews! I promise you, you'll end up out hundreds or even thousands of dollars if you ever need to make a claim. On top of that, the customer service is absolutely horrendous. It will take you a week to hear back after sending an email, and good luck getting through over the phone. Be warned!

Scam. I cancelled with PCPet Insurance in 2015 and was charged and reimbursed until 2018 when they offloaded their pet insurance to Pets Plus Us. I asked to cancel after still being charged in 2019, and there was no response or follow up. I am still being charged for a dog that died of old age in 2019.

This insurance company seems a lie company. They will find any excuse to reject the claim. I have the vet's letter to prove my dog never had the "pre-existing" disease but they just simply not to pay. How come Costco also select this company to be in Costco's website? Stay away from this Pets Plus Us, a lie company!

after paying for years they have decided not to help me with my cat's cancer treatments. I have received not a single penny from them, and spent thousands. absolutely useless, anti-consumer practices. I am probably extra angry because this all happened during the pandemic and now we're about to lose a family member. Thanks for nothing Pets Plus Us.
