Summary

Pets Plus Us is a good pick for pet insurance as the company does not discriminate based on age or increase premiums based on claim history. However, annual deductibles do increase every five years but will never go up more than $100 at a time. It's also worth pointing out that Pets Plus Us' deductible only has to be fulfilled annually and not on per condition/incident basis. The company will also cover alternative treatments so long as they are administered by a licensed veterinarian.

We have been paying $80 a month for a year now. We have claimed 2 things and both have been rejected: 1) infection - apparently our policy doesn't cover this. We have a fairly good policy so I was surprised to see they wouldn't cover this. The cost was under $200 so I didn't have time to fight this. I assumed it was a one off situation. 2) Trip to emergency vet. Dog would not eat, was pooping blood and stomach was severely distended. This issue required multiple trips to the emergency vet. I was told this claim was rejected because it was related to a pre-existing condition. We got this coverage when our dog was months old. Her vet records showed vaccines to date only and she had NO... I recently signed up for Pets + Us insurance, because I found the growing monthly costs and customer service from my previous pet insurance company ( Fetch) appalling. I signed up for Pets + Us basic emergency plan , because our pup has been relatively healthy for her 5+ years of life , so didn't have any underlining issues , but i still wanted something for those "just in case" accidents. We have only been with them for a few months, but we did run into an emergency vet situation. We paid up front , then uploaded all the documents for our reimbursement. I uploaded and sent everything in on oct 29, by oct 31 we received a full reimbursement ( minus vet walk in fees) . I was... Read More

I trusted this insurance because of their partnership with Costco, a brand with a great reputation. I've been paying for this insurance for a long time and never made a claim. My dog has pre-existing conditions, and I've always covered treatments out of pocket. When I finally needed to use the insurance for a skin infection, they denied my claim, citing pre-existing conditions. However, the records they referenced had nothing to do with my dog's skin! After calling, they suggested reopening the case, but I cancelled the insurance immediately. This feels like a scam—they do everything possible to avoid paying. I want an insurance company that actually helps, not one that works to avoid... Read More

Do not waste your money on this company! They are terrible and will make you spend hours on hold and will not pay your claims. They will always find a loophole so they do not have to pay.

One of the worst customer service experiences I have ever had. They do not answer questions or claims. Try another insurance company or pay your own vet bills - it will be better in the long run.

This is a horrible company. Trying to actually talk to a person is impossible! Several claims have tried to be put through to no avail. Think twice about pet insurance. It is probably not worth it and certainly not with this company. They have terrible customer service and will probably not help you with a claim.
